Chrome 42+ supports push notifications http://blog.chromium.org/2015/04/reaching-and-re-engaging-users-on.html . So you can get notification even if you are not actively browsing the website.

Facebook also recently implemented this http://techcrunch.com/2015/09/14/facechrome/

We are thinking of adding the same in  blockonomics (https://www.blockonomics.co) . So basically this will be the flow

- User will search for bitcoin address(es) on blockonomics like this (https://www.blockonomics.co/#/search?q=1dice8EMZmqKvrGE4Qc9bUFf9PX3xaYDp%201dice97ECuByXAvqXpaYzSaQuPVvrtmz6)
- Will click on monitor button
- Then he can navigate away and will get push notification on first confirmed transaction on address

Let me know your thoughts, if this interests you ..or any other suggestions

So are you saying that I could put my address on monitor so that if any transaction occur/get confirmed a notification would pop up? Yes, that would be very useful in my opinion. Visiting a blockchain explorer multiple times a day and inputting my address(es) is inefficient. I also think that you should move this into another section.
Technically this isn't a discussion about Bitcoin, albeit a service and potentially very useful feature.

It would be nice to get a popup in your browser instead of an email notification.

My browser is always open but my email is not resulting in me only seeing notifications once I check my mail or when I check my wallets.

Yes a pop-up would be great but I would also like to have an email notification as well. I have setup my email to give me a notification every time I get an email. This would notify me that I got a payment even if I am not at my computer or looking at my phone. This would be awesome.

There's already a cool tool that I use called BitNotify (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1200251.0) that sends emails every time your balance is updated. I personally think it's great. Is that what you were looking for?

Cool, actually we are targeting this right now on search page, so that user can get a quick notification without login.  Good idea to add this to wallet watcher also, so that user can chose to subscribe to email/push notifications.

Well are you have another feature to add? i'm thinking notification about the balance on your address and every transaction you have made(sent and received amount). and the notification is can appear when the app closed. well also this is can use for multiple address.

Few things
- It only works with chrome 42+ https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2015/03/push-notifications-on-the-open-web?hl=en
- Right now this is meant to be for short term one time transaction notification.
- To avoid spam ,  the address being monitored is removed from the server after sending out one notifications or 24 hours (whichever is earlier)
- To get  long term notifications , use wallet watcher with email
