I would prefer a setup that has one ai flow direciton, possibly forcable from the front. The reason is that when yo put some of those together, obviously, you get into a problematic area with the heat. The classical cold / hot isle approach helps a lot - sucing hot auir and sending it out (not cooling it), while injecting cold air at the front of the computers. Seems 6990's push the air in all directions (not good for that) ;) Any case suggestion, preferably simple box, so it can be stacked nicely? Title: Re: Suggestions for a rackable case? I specifically want to build a "wall" of servers that pushes the cold air through t hem without allowing air back too much.... so that the cold and hot air does not mix ;) Significantly reduces power consumption. The idea is to have a cold side, where I blow in fresh air (POSSIBLY with air conditioning, but not normally) and a HOT side where air then gets pulled out ;) Title: Re: Suggestions for a rackable case? Sadly no freaking idea where to get it in continetnal europe - they dont list europe distributors. Any alternative that is available in europe? That said, this is EXACTLY what I mean. Didn't even need an aftermarket cpu cooler to keep the thing sitting pretty. |
