Title: Make BFL show a prototype
Post by: 420 on October 28, 2012, 12:18:33 AM
Anyone else waiting for BFL to show they actually have someone next generation working before they throw in money for a product they won't get for months?

We could start a pool of orders (word honor system I guess)

that we'll buy if BFL shows this

We can work out the terms

right now just looking for people who are in

I'm in for a $600 "Little Single" once I know they actually have a product

Is pr0n the network they show video footage of the prototype? I just heard rumors I didn't know were true...said there were shafts and recesses, didn't sound like a small piece of hardware

And even if you did wait for a prototype, you still have a big wait if you order now:

Orders placed now are slated for January delivery.

How about you just wait for BFL's customers to post their videos youtube making mad $$$ before the difficulty skyrockets. Then when you're convinced you can buy one and hash along at a year's ROI. :-)

They can't show a prototype because they don't have one, as Inaba repeatedly confessed.

The did post pictures of the ASIC (not renders- real pictures). I feel like that should be enough for anyone. If you wanted to see a complete prototype it would just look like a black box, and I'm not sure how that convinces anyone of anything.

That said, at the conference Inaaba did claim that one of the small devices they auctioned off was a Prototype ASIC, but I could be wrong about that.

The recently released pictures were mock-ups, they were not working prototypes. Inaba confirmed the nonexistence of prototypes just two days ago: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=110290.msg1299906#msg1299906

They auctioned off FPGAs at the conference.

Glade people are opening there eyes to BFL's deceptive ways.
I advise anyone to look into what it takes to make a Asic and it's time frames. They do not have prototype asic's, this means they do not even know if the PCB boards and chips are going to function as they are supposed to. I worked on million dollar aircraft guidance systems when I was In the Marine Corps, one thing I learned is its never that easy  8).

It's a big bet and I do not like my money tied up not even gaining interested somewhere I can't access it
