Title: Supicious users
Post by: Laosai on October 20, 2015, 08:39:30 PM
These users were suspicious, they were all made on the same date, they have the names based on a MOBA game(said by a user on the thread), they also post the consecutively in this thread  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1161847.0 and they were all on the same signature campaign.
Check out these posts made consecutively on a certain thread.

I don't think it's just coincidence. Is this some sort of spamming?

Account farming is not forbidden on this forum. If you spot one of those users are spamming then report to the moderator.
When one of them get banned for 14 days (you'll understand that if one of them are not online for 5 days)
Then you can report them for ban evasion and those users will get perma ban.

Probably and with some digging I made, I found 3 others with the same date registered, same sig campaign, and same source of names( LoL)

Thanks also for making an action :) +1

I don't care about his/her farming of accounts, my inquiry is about those consecutive posts made on a single thread by only one person(probably). I think it is some sort of spamming but I want someone to confirm it :)

It is highly probable that they are all related and also highly probable by the text used, are automated bots talking nonsense.

its fairly obvious its one person farming these accounts. that being said, i didnt really care much for it. however, looking at a few of the replied, its highly likely the user is making use of a spambot to make these posts.

And they attacked once again on the same thread with same replies but now mixed(the reply of user A is now a reply of user B and so on) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1161847.240

It's indeed a bot who did it. Can't mods just ban them?

Edit: P.S. They are everywhere posting consecutively on the same thread , kinda tired of digging more though :D

Nice find OP. Its crap like this that just clutters up this forum with garbage...

All the accounts should be banned it makes a joke out of this place.

For reference these are all characters in the most popular PC game in the world - League of Legends. They may be spamming for the sig campaign but they may also be levelling the accounts up for sale or stasis. Nidalee, Nautilus and Master Yi are spelt wrong though.

Someone already registered the correct spelling.

Looks like someone else also noticed these League characters talking nonsense in this forum. I just got tired of reporting their posts on a single thread. First time I saw it, I already knew that someone is spamming for sig campaign. The MasterYii and Nidaleee one is the most notable for me, as they once posted on a thread in board 1.0 (bitcoin discussion) with almost the same crap, with mixed words to add some confusion lol.

that's the problem when a signature campaign is being managed by a bot that can only count characters from a post instead of a live being checking each post to see if there's anyone taking advantage of the signature campaign.

The spamming spree continues, this time with only two accounts consecutively in a single thread.

I think there's more of them out there and now the owner of those account is slowing down a little and may have noticed that a thread was created for his accounts.

It is obvious that these accounts belong to a same person seeing that their names belong to a simgle game and those accounts were created in almost the same day and a short time frame. Mods, can't you do something about this stuff? Reporting posts would seem to be a waste of energy as they will be repeating this nonsense again. Can banning them be a better solution other than just deleting their posts?

Banned all these ones. Was waiting for BadBear to look into it but seems he's been away the past few days. I think a perma ban is justified on these accounts though. Let me know if there's more.

Good work I'm glad these accounts were banned. That'll clean up the forum a little bit for now :).

Just wondering, I noticed that those accounts don't have their bitmixer signatures anymore, is that the effect of being perma banned? Anyways thanks for the action to those spammers :) Keep up the good work!

Yes. Permabans now remove all profile info (which is a good idea - stops them getting paid as well).
