Title: liquidcoin action
Post by: steelhouse on November 01, 2012, 11:25:18 AM
Liquidcoin seems to be having a rebirth.  Somebody is mining blocks as we have been getting about 1000 blocks a day now.  Liquidcoin closely follows gold in terms of rewards, that the supply is unlimited as long as you mine at a difficulty of 0.05. Can someone verify to see if block reward is around 4.68?  Price and action seems to be trending up at vircurex.

Well maybe this coin's totally broken design makes it a coin to buy and to keep in third party wallets, thus a coin for the masses?

Since even for experienced miners mining it is just a mess of broken-ness maybe the only way to deal with it is to have one or two CPUs somewhere chugging away at it and an exchange where it is sold to the masses to put in their third party wallets?

Who is actually buying them though? Just sockpuppets of the dumper?

So you are saying somebody may have doctored the chain?  I noticed some days 20 BTC worth are sold at vircurex.  Today we are up to 3.  Why can't iocoin, ixcoin and the other chains also be broken?

No, I don't think that's what he is saying. I think he's saying the IDEA behind LCQ is stupid (more or less), the coin is based on other designs. I doubt anyone has doctored the chain. People buy it because they are speculating. And why not? When Asics hit there will be a lot of Idle GPU's in places with free power, and they will gladly mine something like LCQ.

The difficulty never changes, so the more hashing the faster the blocks and at some number of blocks per second the network cannot keep up the branches proliferate orphans abound and so on. Broken by design.
