Title: Have over 0.3BTC on Cryptsy? DO NOT TRY TO WITHDRAW!
Post by: MrPump on October 22, 2015, 03:04:15 AM
Hello,
Cryptsy has withdrawal issues AGAIN.
It was checked by my groups - if you have more than 0.3 BTC do not even try to withdrawal or the money will be long gone.

PM me so i will tell you which coins are still withdrawable + have enough buy orders on other exchanges to get sold into BTC right away.

Cryptsy is facing big issues now, if you try to withdrawal BTC/LTC you may never get them.

Wow, what a Good Samaritan.  ::) Why not just post which coins are withdrawable here for everyone to see as public knowledge?

Hey boddy!
This is because THEY CHANGE.

If i post here what works now, in 15 minutes it will not work.
I also need to know how much you try to withdrawal. 0.5 BTC will work for some, 5BTC will not.

I have proven myself when last time Cryptsy had withdrawal issues.
I do this free, only people who want can pass me tips for the infos.

Actually, a new law has been implemented with cryptsy, with new daily withdrawal limits. $25 a day for 4 days max a month if you are unverified. Also, withdrawals not working at present. Oh, and if you say anything bad, mods chat ban you for a day with no warning .

I'm so happy I took most of my non shit coins out of there... My LTC withdrawel processed after 10 days in limbo with them, happy it went through now I'm reading this...

Maybe I should just sell my other coins at a loss and get the last fraction of BTC out of there...

Is still still related to the coinfire accusations? Or are they in deeper shit? Too bad, I liked cryptsy actually..

But withdrawal from cryptsy is really serious problem now. If you btc withdrawal stucks and will be shown as pending for more than a day, you should consider to ask staff to cancell it, buy some altcoin and withdraw it. Doge, Dash and eth worked fine for me. Ltc withdrawal worked to, but after 2 hours of pending.

I had this issue a couple months ago, they asked me to setup 2FA, then kept asking me security questions I never setup. I kept opening support tickets and eventually they let me withdraw.

Didn't know about all this stuff and deposited 0.5 BTC yesterday. Then tested api for withdrawals. 0.01 BTC withdraw took 8 hours and 1 support ticket. I also read others people posts about problems with withdrawals during that time and submit other 0.49 BTC to withdraw immediately. It been hanging for about 20 hours now and then become cancelled. Just submitted it second time. Waiting...

I've been using Cryptsy since it opened, never had a problem with withdrawing funds at any point (never tried fiat). I haven't taken any LTC or BTC out lately, but everything else I've tried over the last few weeks works perfectly as it always has....just my 2 cents. Sorry if others are having trouble.

Hello,

Most BTC LTC and BTCD w/ds are currently extremely slow moving due to tech issues. This progressively got worse over the past week and were trying to find the reason they are not going out. Please understand that due to extremely high security this a very complex system and the problem is still being resolved.

I am really sorry for any inconvenience this may have cause you. However, we are seeing a delay when it comes to processing BTC transactions. Our technical support team is aware of this issue and they are working on a fix.

Cancel your btc withdraw through support, buy megacoin and withdraw to another exchange and sell for btc.

If your worried then try a very small amount....I just confirmed it anyway.

I got some altcoin withdrawals processed quickly but I haven't tried bitcoin withdrawals for over half a year. Looking at the altcoin prices on cryptsy some are higher than elsewhere. I was considering selling some there and withdrawing bitcoin, but I've changed my mind after reading the horror stories here. If altcoins are the only reliable withdrawal method then they will be overpriced on cryptsy.

Have BTC withdrawal problem on cryptsy for past few weeks  :(
Send BTC out, waiting in "pending" status, send ticket, get response (sorry, we will fix it), send ticket again - withdrawal canceled and repeat it again and again . Sometime with result, sometime - not.
Amounts~ 0.05 - 0.08 BTC
Now trying this with DASH - same shit.
mt.gox detected :(

They're still having issues, or at least I'm still having issues there.  Two weeks ago my 0.01 BTC withdraw request took 36 hours or so.  Then I converted some random altcoins and tried to withdraw less than 0.04 BTC and it's been pending for A WEEK NOW.  My account is only Tier 1, but I can't even get micro amounts out of there now, not even amounts within the "unverified" Tier 0 withdraw limit.

Support just copies and pastes the same response...

But wait....

"mtGox CAN'T fail!"

So there you go...

Same results here with a .04 BTC withdrawal. It has been pending 3 days now.

Some suggestions that are working for "some" users":
a) Verify your account to Tier Level 2
b) Request a cancellation of transaction and try making them in smaller amounts.

Sounds like you've tried that... I'm trying it now and will post any updates.  My last successful withdrawl was for 0.01BTC and took about 36 hours after the email confirmation.

Good luck to us all

Its painful with the withdrawal fees, and this is the last I am using Cryptsy.

Unfortunately even after this there probably won't be a shortage of people willing to deposit on this exchange, assuming they are still solvent.

All the coins have nee send to a real exchange and converted to fiat and stored in a swiss bank account you idiots.  Or in reality converted to BTC.  There is no way you are getting any of your funds back.  This is like gawminers.  They were having problems and garza was hiding it from the employees until he stopped paying them.  Watch over the next few months.  Big Vern is probably hiding the accounting for cryptsy from employees.  It is only a matter of time until he pays they all off like Garza did.  If I worked for Big Vern I would be updating my resume and looking for the next gig before he called the whole team into the office to make an announcement.

the most weird thing are, we are able to make deposit smoothly anytime, and can not withdraw in the end.
is it not a strong sign that they are preparing to suck our money (scam)?
we wish it will never happened, but the reality says diffferrent.

multipool.us has called it quits with Cryptsy due to withdrawal issues.

Quote
Jan 04 1:04 PM We have attempted several times now to contact Cryptsy to get a status on BTC/LTC withdrawals but have received no response. According to reports from our users and users on other sites, it appears that Cryptsy has not processed BTC or LTC withdrawals in over a month. Other currencies may be working but are now highly inflated on Cryptsy.

We consider Cryptsy to be a defunct exchange and recommend our users avoid it. We have temporarily disabled auto and daily payouts for any users who are using Cryptsy integration in order to prevent any additional losses. In order to re-enable withdrawals, please visit your account page and set cryptsy integration to "disabled". If you have any questions please email us.

Whats the best alternative exchanges to cryptsy at the moment or long term.   I owner has problems over a divorce case, his wife trying to confiscate customer funds for alimony which sounds unlikely to be legal

The "big ones" won't work, BTC, LTD, Dash, sometime Doge. According to a mod, cold wallets are frozen so you can only withdraw from the hot wallets, as long as there are enough coins in.

Try CLAM, NOTE, XMG and DMD. Had success with them so far.

If you need volume, there are only Poloniex and Bittrex. Cryptopia and Yobit still need more volume, although they cover a lot of PoW coins (good for miners).

I've tried with potcoin and it work flawlessy.
DMD is a no go btw.
I tried 10 DMD without a problem. But also with 500 and yes I am waiting again.

Too bad i can't cancell it anymore.

Thanks yea I have old accounts there.  I used HYP to withdraw,  DOGE froze on me but theres a few coins that work.  BLK is slowly dripping amounts, many coins probably work small amounts only, I think cryptsy just need time to get back liquidity.   The guy who runs this site is a solid guy, Im sure he'll do the hard work when he can get it back online fully

Did you contact the support? My pending withdrawal has been cancelled within 24 hours.

The problem seems to be that the cold wallets are frozen/locked and only the coins in the hot wallets are available to withdraw. As long as there are enough coins in, it's not a problem. Popular coins need new deposits (i.e. from miners) that others can withdraw them.

I'm not sure about this divorce story. It would make sense, if rumours are true.

The game was over some weeks ago when the problems came to a high.
The last few weeks were just a game played in demo mode, with real money.

Crptsy didn't cease its activity. They report a phishing attack and closed withdrawals for a while.

Maybe it is an elaborate scheme but nobody except for Paul Vernon knows for sure.

Grossly negligent, you would expect more from a company responsible for a big amount of user funds...

So an expected "hacker attack" was required to force BigV to communicate with his users?

Not sure if this is bad news or good news, at least its communication.  I'm flipping a coin, its a positive :D    I have withdrawn various alt coins, last batch was some DOGE.  I presume its all locked down now till the dust settles on whatever happened  \_(ツ)_/¯

Well if you have read their email, you know this is prety serious.
ALL activity has been halted. There even is a link to get your money back (which wasn't working).

So yes, it's time to worry now.

That email was a phishing attempt and should be ignored, if you used the link in the email you are advised to change your password and enable 2fa

ALL activity has not been halted, withdrawals have.

Important System Notification

Phishing Attempt:: There is a phishing attempt going around prompting users to go to a cryptsy-refund website. Do not go to this website or give your login details on any website other than the official Cryptsy website. There were two avenues of the Phishing attempt. One was via SMS, using our provider Twilio and gained entry into our logs and sending ability via a weak password on that account. The passwords on this account have been secured. The other avenue was via email using the same mailing service we use (Mailgun), but was not sent using our account. It is uncertain where the email list for this Phishing attempt was attained from, as we do not show any unauthorized access to our Mailgun account nor our internal systems. We are still investigating this matter. If you were a victim of this phishing, you should log into your account at Cryptsy immediately and do the following: 1. Change your password and enable 2fa if you don’t already have it enabled. 2. Check your pending withdrawals, we currently have withdrawals disabled so if you see one that shouldn’t be there you can request to have it cancelled. Regarding other issues that have been apparent at Cryptsy for the last couple months, I will be making another post to explain what has been happening in the next couple days. Until we are able to determine the extent of the phishing attempt, all withdrawals are paused and will be cancelled before they are brought back live.....BigVern

You don't know that. Probably not a very popular opinion here but I trust the guy. Of course I wouldn't recommend to anyone to deposit funds on cryptsy right now but If I had some bitcoin left I think I would risk some more.

according to Vern:
http://blog.cryptsy.com/

13k BTC, and 300k LTC were stolen July 29, 2014 (a year and a half ago)

My research has turned up 456,501 DRK/Dash were also stolen (only large tx that day)

No idea on any other coins...

So yes, it's time to worry now.

The time to worry is before any loss, or least it pays better then.   I dont really blame any party as I think we know in concept an exchange with all money centralised is vulnerable increasingly with its success and growth.  Bitcoin itself has to avoid this kind of natural crush towards amassing all power and risk in one place or it'll fall into the same problems.
We could say oh the people who ran the exchange are the bad people they made mistakes but really I think the problem was allowing worth to be placed in one place that goes against why bitcoin succeeds in the first place.

Quote
Many are suggesting other options other than the 3 mentioned above:
4. Spread the loss to all users in the system and allow trades to continue.

From the blog itself I think it would be best to press on, take the hit and place IOU into accounts that have fallen short from this failure.   Nobody will be happy or grateful but it will be a working system at least, its really no good to freeze an exchange and everybody loses.  Its like a golden rule really that all exchanges small and large avoid trading halts for anymore then brief periods.

I cant remember which exchange did this previously after a loss, were they able to recover maybe someone can say

It's way more then those. For some coins Cryptsy was the main exchange so it will be way more then just btc/ltc/drk etc.
