Title: bluff or hero call
Post by: enhu on October 22, 2015, 04:22:22 AM

I know bluff don't usually work as I myself lose from time to time. And if I think the pot size bet is something I can afford to lose, I give it a go.
Often times I don't succeed with it, maybe once, twice and the rest is failure. Did you notice that you lose more when you got upset when your bluff or hero call didn't work? should you take a break when this happen?

Seems that you're a regular poker player. You have made another thread about how to decide fold or call, and now about bluff. I think its better if you make it into 1 thread only discuss about poker strategies.

Thanks. I'm no expert though. I get to lose my cash because of poker but I'm learning, good thing I just spend bitcoin that I know I can get to earn back. I've search and there is no existing thread about poker strategies though.

From my experiences ,I have understood after winning a huge game I take a break from two games and then become a part of third game without getting over excited .Because i think the more greedier you get to earn more money you keep on losing .When you start to have more expectations from the game it starts backfiring .So just play casually, don't expect anything and see how things work for you. :)

well for sure you will lose more when you get upset in general , you should kill your feelings before starting your session
being upset due something else like family problems will make your decisions usually bad also you will lose your focus sometimes
my point is try to kill your feelings when you want to grind or let poker wait till the other day

Never ever play when you are on tilt, just get up and walk away. Try your luck the next day.

For my low knowledge of poker a  bluff is not something you should randomly try when you have no other chance but on the opposite you have to build it either preflop and then street by street also considering board cards, image opponents have of you, opponent image and so on.

So, like every other answer related to poker play, also this one should start with "depends on ...." ;)

Bluffing is one of the nicest but hardest things to do in poker IMO. You gotta know when u gonna bluff as if u check till the river and u'll go all-in, it'll probably be clear, that u are bluffing. :)  Anyway, u won't succeed 100% of times, but u can increase the success chance.
