Which one is better, Blockchain, CoinBase? What other companies are there?

Take a look around the alternative clients board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=37.0

They even have specialized sub forums for some of the larger, wel known wallets such as Electrum, multibit and Armory.

You should be able to find your answer there. Personally, I like electrum a lot. Easy to use, fast and clean.

if you are holding less then a weeks wage (something that wont kill ya if you lost) then online wallets are ok.
because coinbase is starting to get some legitimate coverage, and some responsibilities it would seem more safe then blockchain.info which has not official business/consumer protection responsibilities..

but if the funds are greater then something that you can recover from quickly (eg retirement investment) then getting the proper bitcoin wallets where you own the private keys and the funds remain in only your control

Use coinbase or xapo, their services are good ;)
Don't use blockchain as they are one of the weakest wallet out there and prone to malicious attacks :(

I would recommend you to use coinbase as they have an actual user protection compared to blockchain.info. On a side note, online wallets aren't that secure compared to wallet clients which you have full control over the private keys. If you are planning to store large amounts of bitcoins into an online wallet, think again and consider getting a wallet which you have full control to.

I've been using Blockchain.info , even though its online and on occasions it gets few problems which gets fixed plus I think its the most used among all if I'm not wrong... The overall experience is good and it's really user friendly

Not both for storing your main amount, that wallet is just for daily spending, I prefer to coinbase.

For storing you main amount better to choose cold wallet.

Coinbase FTW! No tx fees (or little) and you can have as many different BTC addresses that go into one single account.
You can also exchange fiat to BTC and vice-versa, though it is blocked in some countries like Australia.

For storing amounts over 0.5BTC though, use a desktop wallet as it is much more secure.

Yes it is most used, I give you that. About 4.4 million wallets.

I wouldn't advise anybody on using it though. I wouldn't advise anyone on using an online wallet at the first place, but if you really want to, choose something else besides blockchain.info.

Blockchain.info is the buggiest wallet out of all. Also very prone to the malleability attacks. It seems to me that 9/10 malleability attacks have happened to the people using blockchain.info wallet.

I personally prefer coinbase. I find it much secure and blockchain has been really buggy these days. I don't like their concept in smartphone where you need to have another device to scan to get your wallet back. It's a good 2FA but then whatxif it's urgent and don't have access to a different device? On the other hand, coinbase provides the same security but then they are more well developed.

Not the best wallet for storing bitcoin for long term.

Blockchain wallet have a lot problem with their network even their wallet service, too many complaints. I personally have a bad experience with this wallet.

Coinbase, is basically exchange, you need to prove real identity, it's not bitcoin style :P
don't forget about mt.gox it's always have a possibility coinbase is the next my.gox.

I cant say which one is better between blockchain and coinbase because the basic function is different. Blockchain is a pure bitcoin wallet while coinbase is an exchange.
I myself prefer to use multibit.

I just noticed bitWallet on IOS has this function. It is pretty cool and it free too.  ;)
Noticed one wallet on their app store that costs $22. I think that one is a bit more robust with features then these free ones.

For me i better to choose multibit wallet.

My reason is i can completely take control of my wallet. No 3rd party or other people have access to my wallet.

Blockchain has been have a few minor problems but It is still better than most other ones. Consider backing up with a paper wallet or an encrypted wallet.bat.
