Starting bid: 0 BTC End date and time: Wednesday 28th of October at 20:00 UTC Payment methods accepted: Bitcoin Additional information: Read below We have launched our new product line (https://medium.com/@Technomage/the-first-multisig-physical-bitcoin-8769f2e7e3b3#.dx0qlfhsu) and we are going to auction the first 50 coins from our 1 BTC Denarium Series of 2015. The total batch is 250 coins and the rest (200) will be on sale at Denarium.com (https://denarium.com) later on based on the auction prices. This is the first of three auctions and there is a total of 20 coins on sale. https://denarium.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/1btc_front_B1.png This is a concept picture. Actual coin may look slightly different. General information You are ONLY bidding for the coin itself, not the bitcoin value inside the coin. If you win a coin, you can choose a L series hologram (loaded) in which case you will pay 1 BTC extra on top of the auction price. Or you can choose an E series hologram (empty) in which case the auction price is what you pay for the coin. You can also choose a M series hologram (multisig) in which case you will need to send us a public key / address later on. For multisig there is no extra cost for the auctioned coins. M series coin can be either empty or loaded, you choose. It is important to note though that we can't ship L series or loaded M series to the US, but E series and empty M series we can. Shipping cost Shipping is paid IN ADDITION to the auction price. Price can vary from 11-64 EUR depending on where we need to ship. Finland is cheapest at 11 €. For most European countries it will be 25 € and also for some Asian countries but for some it will be as high as 60 € for shipping. US and Canada is 60 € for example. It is possible to combine shipping if you have other orders from Denarium.com or other Denarium auction wins, so keep that in mind. Serial numbers We are reserving 50 serials from each series for these auctioned 1 BTC coins. For the L series it will be 4000-4049. For the E series it will be 1000-1049. For the M series it will be 1-50. Highest bid gets the lowest serial. So if the best bid winner chooses a L series, that coin will be L4000. Then if the 2nd largest bidder chooses E, that will be E1000. And then if 3rd bidder chooses L, that will be L4001. And so on. As the bidders do not need to state which series they are going to choose when bidding, it is impossible to bid for a specific serial unless you are the highest bidder of all in which case you will get the first serial of the series you choose. Shipping date The coins will be shipped in January 2016. How to bid You can bid for any amount of coins from 1 coin to 20 coins. The format is "2 @ 0.5" which means "I'm bidding for 2 coins, 0.5 bitcoins each". If you want to bid for one coin only, post "1 @ 0.5". If for all of them, post "20 @ 0.5". The auction is conducted by using 2 decimals only. So you can bid "2 @ 0.51" but DO NOT bid "2 @ 0.511". Auction rules - When you post a bid, the bids in your previous posts are considered to be automatically canceled. You can put multiple bids in one post, however. - All bid prices must be evenly divisible by 0.01. - If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will be first in line to win a coin. - Bids are considered invalid and will be ignored if they do not specify both a price and a max quantity, or if they could not possibly win any slots - Winning bidders must inform me within 24 hours after the end of the auction which Series (L, E or M) they are choosing and which country the coin will be shipped to. Then the winner has another 24 hours to pay the full auction price. If these rules are confusing, please PM me for clarifications and I will explain and potentially update the OP. I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. If bids are rejected for any reason, the next bids in line that didn't win originally, will come into play and will have a chance to buy a coin. For the auctions we're only accepting Bitcoin. As for the production process, the coins are a bit more complicated to make than our other coins. The coin die is carved partially by hand thus the coin is getting special attention and also it's different size and different material than our previous coins. Most importantly we're prioritizing the Custom Value coin because it is more important for the Christmas gift market. Also we would rather like to under promise and over deliver than the other way around. This means that if everything goes smoothly, we may be shipping these coins in December. This is a problematic issue that we have been trying to solve. First of all the Finnish post does not allow sending silver products to some countries. US is one of them. We're forced to use other shipping methods which are more expensive. Overall the product is not comparable to the brass products as their value is significantly lower. We're expecting the price for these coins to be significantly higher thus we can't just send them with the cheapest possible method - risks & potential losses are higher. It's a difficult issue but we're doing our best to solve it. The funded / unfunded doesn't matter as all coins are shipped as unfunded. It's just that the coin value alone will be quite significantly higher and the material is also a challenge in this sense. And well, shipping from Finland is also fairly expensive in general. We're quite open to any kind of combined shipping options for US orders if I can get verifications from the buyers who want to combine the shipping. We will continue to explore the US shipping options and it also matters quite a bit how valuable these coins are, which we are trying to find out with these auctions. The value matters when choosing the shipping option, more valuable requires safer shipping. I was not aware that sending say a brass coin is fine, but sending a silver one all of a sudden opens up problems. Very interesting. Since I don't know who will end up buying these, I guess I cant rely on other US bidders in the auction to split the cost of shipping right now. Perhaps I'll have to organize or get in a US group buy for these coins once they're for sale on your site or grouping all 3 auctions together. We've had multiple packages lost with our earlier coins already and this is a much more attractive coin than the brass ones. So if you can afford the true and final prices of these coins, paying 25 EUR for shipping shouldn't be a major issue. This is a very important question and I certainly need to explain how it works. First of all the financing of the coins is not really an issue as we have income from our other Bitcoin business lines. Denarium is not our biggest revenue generator, not even close. Not yet at least. Then the important part: refunds. The refunding actually works a little bit different for the auctioned coins and the coins sold at our website. As on our website we have a policy which basically protects us from exchange rate risk (physical coin value always priced in EUR, bitcoin value always priced in BTC) but I did not mention this in any way whatsoever in the auction post which means we have will give out the potential refunds for auctioned coins with the full bitcoin value that was paid after the auction. This means that for everyone's safety we will be storing all of the funds from the auctions separately and keep them untouched. With the coins sold at the website we store the loaded bitcoin value as bitcoins of course but the physical coin value becomes a normal part of our regular cash reserves. So to summarize, no one needs to worry about the refunds. Especially for these auctions.
