Sounds about right, the car seems to be in perfectly good shape. I'd buy that one if I have the money. Are there any records of someone buying luxurious items with bitcoins such as a house or in this case, a car? I only see pizzas that costs 10,000 bitcoins.

There was the case of Blake Benthall, the guy behind Silk Road 2.0 purchasing a Tesla Model S with Bitcoin! And https://www.bitpremier.com/ (https://www.bitpremier.com/), though I'm unsure if people manage to sell much there. I presume they do as it's been around for quite a while!

I don't like the look of that car, you could get a much nicer Mercedes, BMW, or Audi for a similar price.

He ain't that crazy. If he sells it and Bitcoin goes to $400, he would have sold it in the end for $120,000. Then again Bitcoin might drop again (small chances in my opinion) and he might end up losing money.

Tesla S are programmable and has internet connectivity, right? I saw a guy on youtube that programmed something on the car. In any case, that dude who bought it has a good taste for cars. :)

There's a few used ones around that price level, but not many. And I've no idea what import taxes are like in China. I woulda thought they'd be rather high. According to the ad it cost the equivalent of $155,000 new.

Great deal. This guy will be a future Bitcoin Rothchild with a 300 BTC wallet (if he holds all of it, but chances are he will panic sell before that can happen). it's still a great deal if he gets away with it. I think you could easily find that car for a bit less money in similar condition.

I'm not sure about the programmability and net connectivity, but I'm not really a fan of the Tesla S. I don't know why, I just don't really like the styling of it.. It's like a 4-door sedan masquerading as a sports car or something. ???

I think the latest update in theory allows a bit of self driving, not that they were planning on embracing it. It must be seriously weird owning a car that has some new features every time you get into it. The world of vehicle hacking is going to be a messy one.

I havent 300 bitcoins to buy it, i need to save more bitcoins. And i suppose that shipping, customs and other cost will be expensive.

only a few of people know what is the problem with electric propulsion (in resume, cost of the replacment part ... charger in first place, controller of motor in second place).

I think the Model X has a 8 year, infinite mile battery and drive unit warranty...  ??? ..... The 155 mph top speed is just enough excitement I need for a car seating 7 people.  ;D

That will work if your BTC increases in value in long term. That Tesla car does not offer any other function. It still uses electricity, which cost CO2 to generate.

I think its a perfect match tho, currency of the future and cars of the future. If you don't accept Bitcoin payments making electric cars you'll look like an idiot in years time. When BTC goes 100K each I'll give this guy one for the best car he can build :D

Not all cars. Especially green cars can go the other way. I bought a car for Amount X in 2013 and now this same old car sells for 125% X.

I imagine it might be similar with Tesla, though it's really expensive. But, i believe, they have a contract for free loading electricity for a year or more. That is valuable...

Though you not only drive in the city alone. Maybe in huge cities. But even then, you are slow on longer distances, which means you lose time, which is money somehow.

And you don't want to drive your girlfriend around on the backseat of your bike too. Girls look, don't believe emanzipation, still to what a man has reached to create a life for both of them.

That's what i think too. The design is somewhat lame, especially at the front. Though tesla is really on the edge of tech. Lately i saw a video with a self driving tesla. Worked fully fine. And another video where a tesla outperformed all supersportcars they tried to set against it. Easy with having an electric motor i guess.

They should ask Toyota with their hybrid tech. I think they have a lot of experience and toyota is top on having no needed repairs. Toyota even withdraws car to the repair shop very often. Other car manufacturers don't care about most things. They calculate "Cost of withdraw and repair of all cars against reparation for death car drivers." If the latter is lower then they leave it be. ::)

Looks like a very nice car. Someone with a car of the future asking to be paid with the currency of the future, seems legit. The asking price for the car is a bit higher than you would expect. 300x380(asking amount of Bitcoin x Price of bitcoin)=$114,00 when the price of the car is around $80,000. He should be asking for around 210 Bitcoin. But other than that, I really like the look of the car and the fact that it is an electric car makes it even better. The currency of the future and the cars of the future really suit each other.

You never know, a lot of Chinese people have a lot of Bitcoin. I couldn't see why no one would buy such a nice car, but at that price, I doubt anyone will buy it. He is asking for $40,000 over the actual car price.

He probably started that offer when the bitcoin price was half of it's todays value...

what if said cheap car was the cause of your death though  ???  Never leave that stuff to chance at least compromise.

a well i don't have a girlfriend, and i don't think i need one, i can do 50 Km/h easily in a bicycle, this is more than enough to move from place in the city to another place always in the same city

i can only agree if we are talking about travelling outside your city, to reach a new one, but there are bus for that...

50km/h is a lot in the city. Especially better than most cars in rush hour.

And yes, if you don't go to parties or so then busses are fine too. Otherwise they don't drive at good times at the night too. Except it's a really big city.

keep in mind that with all the traffic lights, that we have here, basically every 500 meters or so, you can't really go mad with speed, so a 20-30km/h in most cases will suffice, which is a joke if you have good legs

i don't know how many there are where you live, but traffic lights are helping more us cyclist than anything  ;D

Yeah i know, since you can cross the streets, use the streets and all. Though hopefully you don't drive as crazy as these new york bike couriers. :D
