Title: Washington, DC Bitcoin Users Group Post by: clone4501 on November 02, 2012, 05:28:13 PM All are invited to our November 6th users group meeting at the Northside Social in Clarendon (Arlington, VA), off the Orange Line Metro. The meeting starts at 7 PM, and parking is generally not a problem.
The theme of this month's meeting is looking "under the hood" of Bitcoin. Is it really just a "decentralized, distributed notary service" as one of the developers puts it? What do miners actually do, and what's the cryptography behind Bitcoin all about?
