Title: Is this site trusted? - cryptohourly
Post by: Cereberus on October 27, 2015, 02:29:19 AM
It just started up. Delays in payments posted on their facebook page. Blamed because of blockchain attacks.

Their site has a green privacy lock so they pay high amount to keep it secured.
What do you think in putting investment there?

that green bar (ev ssl) can easily be purchased, it proves nothing
Theres no attack on blockchain, their ip probably got blocked due to too many requests. Blockchain doesnt condone sites like this. All i can say is RIP.

Whenever I find some site said trusted, I smell something fishy and this is not an exception.
First, SSL can be bought easily. That they paid for it doesn't mean they won't scam you just a small investment in it to attract investors
Second, this whole thing is not transparent. Things that don't go transparent it usually scam fast
Third, the numbers of investors, the bitcoins amount can easily be faked.
Forth, look at the system status in home tab. you will find "All sistems operational". Really? no professional would spare that error.
Fifth, next scheduled maintance: 380 days while they can use the domain for like 350 more.
Sixth, no site can attract 500BTC in 10 days. That's impossible

I belive that this will turn scam soon and if there is devsoft, he will find more security issues with this site

This is what I saw on other threads from members here. That they were not receiving any transactions to their wallets, so that reason seemed valid.
I am asking because they say their company are incorpd the british virgin islands, so that always seems fishy to me. Yes 500btc does seem to be too in excess for these sites to be raking in of an up time in 4 days.

You just try this in the last hour?
I noticed the signup of 0.0001btc as bonus. But I wasn't too sure about the no fees. They do say that there is no deduction of you Initial Deposit, which I always hated in these investment sites. So the "Principal back any time" thing is real?

Yes I just did withdrew it like 10 minutes ago when I wrote that post however it was a micro transaction so it really doesn't prove to much although you can see others withdrawing money in the hot wallet.  There was no deduction in my deposit, and I am almost positive the principal back anytime is real as many other sites have had that feature in the past.  I just invested .00132 BTC to see how to goes if it works I'll invest a couple dollars.

I threw some bits their way the other day to play around and seems like they're processing transactions instantly with no fees. This isn't really the best tactic as fees are often larger than the amount transacted to the address. My transactions serve example of this. :p

The green privacy lock is an SSL and it often comes with webshosting or domain name package or can be purchased separately, if it sounds too good to be true then it is.

Green privacy lock doesnt means that it will not scam.. It only protect the sites from being hacked. It is. Protection layer given to a website so that ddos attack doesnt goes on it.

Green privacy doesnt protects you from being scammed. It depends what is going in the mind of the site admin.

Never invest in that kinda ponzi giving high ROI

How long did it take for those deposits to be received into your cryptohourly account?
They are claiming it takes 24 hours because of the blockchain.info slow down.
This is BS if you got your bits into your account right away.

Sites paying, be careful though the principal withdrawal fee states it is 0% but then it says or .01 BTC so that means that the principal withdrawal is .01BTC which is like 3 dollars but it doesn't increase after that so I guess it would be good for large investments since the principal withdrawal fee is not a percentage but a fixed amount.  Small investments aren't very welcome lol.  Also it took 3 days for my deposit to hit the account, hopefully they have fixed that by now though.

Yup exactly, be very careful, I invested .002 BTC and I tried to withdraw my principal, thats when I saw the information about the .01 BTC fee, which is much more than my investment.  So it would not make sense to withdraw the principal as I would receive literally nothing.  So I'll simply keep the principal there and earn on it until the site eventually goes down.

This is false conclusion.
Why would there be 0 withdrawal fee if the miner's fee on a small amount (3.6% fraction of your 0.002btc deposit amount) cost them more to send out than the actual amount they are paying you? That would not make sense to process that if they want to still stay up and running, or they would bankrupt themselves in paying higher in tx fees then the actual payments being sent out to these members that don't invest more than atleast 0.10btc. I assume they let you withdraw your interest payments whenever you want and no matter how small an amount?
Well that is a bad business model that will not go on very long.
Just try to put in 0.10btc+ and see if there is any fee for releasing your principal. I doubt there would be any as advertised on there front splash page.

Very simple actually...... They are pocketing the difference between the true miners fee and the miners fee that they charge.

Ok, so I've deposited .5 BTC into this site in the last week about three times, it takes a little over 24 hours to show up which made me nervous. It DID show up after like 36 hours. I got so nervous I took it out after like a day the first time. Two or three days the second time. And the third time was about half a day. I've used the chat integrated into the website to ask if there was a fee for "releasing" your current investment to your "balance" before you can withdrawal it. They said no. There actually isn't. I've used MinuteBTC before, but they deduct a 5% release fee, which is why I tried this site out. I've only used a few of these sites.. I started with BTCmono and BTCflex, both of which disappeared after about a week to a week and a half after I deposited my bitcoin into it. Luckily those first two sites were small amounts. I built up my trust with MinuteBTC by sending a few small amounts and gradually sending bigger amounts. I used them for about a week and a half with no problems. I just didn't like the 5% deduction before you can withdrawal. But then again, the 5% deduction makes me feel more comfortable that they will stay around longer than CryptoHourly who charges no fees period. Even though I've made about .2BTC with them in less than a week it just sketches me out that there's no fees. Nothing in this worlds free..

This hasn't just popped up. It has been around for more than a week now even before I found it.
They have been paying without withdrawal fees on your principal when you release it, which is really a bonus for type of site.

Also, according to these guys http://bitcoincloudmining.center/hyip-monitoring (http://bitcoincloudmining.center/hyip-monitoring), they've been around since October 24th. I keep getting nervous and yanking my deposit and then I'll get ballsy or curious and send a different amount, usually more, but a couple times I sent less than the original. So far though, I've had no trouble with them, it takes forever for them to receive my deposits but withdrawal payouts come almost instantly.

the guy (karl) is so ******* scammer that, the mother***** stole loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooootta people in his website with a fake forum, a fake "investment tool", fake users, fake hash from blockchain, he uses Skype, and email.... even if he responds me or not what I ask, my 0.066BTC (of a total of 0.07BTC) won't be returned to me. Each time the guy has a lie, a history, a catastrophic situation hahahahhahahhaha **** all this scammers....

cryptohourly won't give back my third and my fourth "investment", it looks like a well arranged ponzi scheme.

 8)
Is it for real that they stopped paying on third and fourth deposits?
My payouts on my first small deposit are ok and instant, like you said.
Then,I think,I should reconsider my second deposit it self.
Is it the same experience with any other depositor here?

Their support is horrid. You ask a question and their answer is usually just scripted as you get the same answer "refer to emailing support" or "Yes" or "No" answer.
Pfftt! I think this is run by a Russian admin.

Do they even pay you for referrals? No! I asked support and they just keep saying "yes" but nothing shows up in referral list as commission earned and all referrals show as having deposited for a week now.

MinuteBTC has been around for a good while now, it does pay a bit less than others but in my opinion that makes it much more stable.  That being said the rate of return is higher than any mainstream investment ever.  This site Cryptohourly has been paying for a while as well, its alright but my deposit took 3 DAYS to hit the account, after that I didn't invest anymore money because I was scared I would lose my money.  If the deposit hit within a confirmation or 2 I would have invested much more money.

Hi All,

Dose someone know the contact number I can call to Cryptohourly Website Legit since I can't withdraw my deposit and also my BitCoin Account was been changed and transfer my pending withdrawal to this fake account so as to lose it.
I have send several mail to Webmaster and call help to customer support. But all of that are not useful and helpful. Now I still can not get back my all deposits back.

Please kindly help and guide me how to deal it with and provide phone number to call directly.

Best regards,
Jeremy

cryptohourly paid me 3 times.

little amounts: 0.001BTC each time;

IT'S THE FASTEST WITHDRAW I EVER SEEN. THIS LAST ONE TOOK 1 SECOND (NOT KIDDIN);

.....got some tests to do... it seem strange.... at least for the quantities, but I'll transfer little more BTC to do this test.

Below is my info. for your further reference.

Invest Summary

Active Invest:   ฿25.39409187
Total Invested:   ฿37.36506255

Yes, at the beginning  my investment is from 1 ~ 10 BTC and I also try to withdraw some small founds and it was working.
However, one I put more and higher BTC now, it starts pending withdraws and then my founds was missing around 2.2 BTC which was transferred to fake account -
I am sure that is not mine and I did not change it.

During this two days, trying to use LiveChat for calling help in it but it is really not useful and helpful. He, only this guy John, said email to webmaster and wait for 24 hours; now it has passed two days and no any news from this site.

Yesterday, I try to withdraw my balance again to see what happen. Now in the morning, I don't see it in my BTC account again and it is also missing again. LiveChat is not working currently.

I feel my deposits has been locked and will lose it or has lost it now.

This shows the site pays out to only those with small investments!
That is why it goes well with my instant small withdrawls,I think.

For updated information, the deposits is still locked there and they deleted all my message in their Facebook page.
That is really really bad. Hope there will no more people encounter it again.

I've been using CryptoHourly for a week and a half now and here's my view of it...

First of all, yes, it DOES seem like a "semi"-ponzi scheme so if anyone is afraid of being scammed, stay clear of it.

Secondly, I'll make my own case... I'm new to bitcoins and I consider myself a "BTC Farmer" (if there's a term like that)... I don't mine for BTC, I don't purchace BTC... I just collect bits and bits of Shatoshi here and there and fill my wallet. It's not very efficient and I KNOW it will take a loooooong time to make 1BTC just from that so investment sites like CH are mandatory for the capital to grow. So, is CryptoHourly a good investing site?

For small timers like me, yes it is. Firstly, even if they DO scam me, big deal... I would have lost the 0.007 BTC I collected (and invested) so far. Sure, it would be a wast of time for all the farming I did but meh... It's not like I stopped living to get those (I wasted many more valuable hours on pointless video games, doing this is nothing!! :D ). If it isn't a scam, then from one point on I will stop farming alltogether and just reap the rewards from CH.

But will CryptoHourly last??

I don't know much about bitcoin mining and stuff (like I said, I'm rather new to this) but CH's buisness model seems... Legit! I mean, their investment profit is 3.6% daily. This means that an investor will get his investment back 100% in a month. Now, CH claim to have an ASIC array for mining so, if they can make 1-10 BTC daily, so in a time-span of a month (until the investor gets his capital back) they will probably have mined much more BTC than what they need to return!

What does that mean for investors?

For small timers like me, it means that CryptoHourly will have no trouble keeping up with our Balance up-keep. Considering that most of the investors are smalltimers (or carefull investors) that don't just pour their hard earned BTC into them, their mining gains should be enough to cover everyone already. And, up to this date, it hasn't even been a month since the site launched, so no Investor ever got their full investment back 100%.

But, again... Will it last?

Like I said before, this feels like a ponzi scheme. Only accepting investments over 0.001 BTC (5.1 BTC if you want to sign up for the 0.20% hourly profit?)... It does sound fishy. So, I guess the first "milestone" for this site is the day they reach a month of existance. That's when they will have repayed their first investors 100% and they will have to pay them "out of their pockets" from there on. But, like I said before, if they DO have a descent ASIC mining array and they profit from that, they will have no problem keeping the company running. The second milestone would be the halving of the newly generated BTC in 2016 (from 25 per 10 mins will go down to 12.5 per 10 mins). This will mean that their mining probably won't be able to keep up with investment profits. After that, they will have to either drop the profit rate or just abort ship, take away the rewards and live hapily ever after.

To tell you the truth, I'm more concerned about the second mileston than the first one...

But IS IT a ponzi scheme?

Only way to expose a ponzi is to make large investments right away. A ponzi scheme depends on small investments to create an initial capital in order to live up to their profit claims. If someone right off the bat invests a huge amount, the schemer will have to either deny the offer or grab the money and dissapera because, in the long run, there's no way he can keep up with the profits. This will also happen with CryptoHourly if people start throwing large amounts of BTC their way. So, I guess it's up to us to either keep our investments small (well, like I could do otherwise! :P ) and see how deep the rabbit hole goes or throw away our BTC to expose their scam (which, I should say, isn't an entirely profitable move!).

Again, up to now, they seem legit... Let's wait for the first milestone (their one-month anniversary) and then we'll see how it goes.

Cheers! :D

Disclaimer: I'm in no way associated with CryptoHourly in any way other than being a registered investor on their site. I'm just willing to give people a chance and look on the bright side of things than being a straight up "nay-sayer" just because a transaction went bad.

P.S. I noticed that every time I sent BTC from my BlockChain wallet to CH, it charges me with 0.0002 BTC as transaction fees. I.e. on my last investment, I sent 0.0015 BTC to CH but my wallet balance was charged for 0.0017. This happened to every other transaction I did towards CH, don't know if this is normal or it has something to do with CH. I've only sent BTC to CH after all, nowhere else...

That is a bit much to invest in a site like this.  The reason it is pending is because there are not enough new investors to pay your interest payments, or the admin ran with it.  Maybe try withdrawing in .1-.2 BTC increments and see what happens.  I don't know your financial situation but I'm guessing if I were rich I might just throw around a couple dozen bitcoin like that and not care too much about it and hope that I make some good profit on it.  That would be awesome lol , anyway good luck hope you get your money back.

The site is almost official gone now.  It went through some phases of falling apart today and has ended with a failed withdrawal and a "service suspension" page.  Another one bites the dust.

Their home page just seems to be a static html file which is still online as I'm writing this. There was briefly an error message from ddos-guard.net saying the website owner should contact them. I went to ddos-guard.net and spoke with someone on chat. They said their bill wasn't paid. I offered to pay the bill myself to get the website back online and they wouldn't take my money. I even asked them to put the website back up for a short period of time so I can withdraw my money and they didn't want to do that. Now I don't even see their error message.

Before today I just thought their website was going offline because people kept clicking refresh to watch their balance grow.

Yes the site is officially gone as their page does not work. That was fairly quick, I remember one like this that lasted 4 months. This one a little over a month.
Don't invest in these sites. They can easily be torn down and you don't have anyway to get your deposits back.
It was shady from the beginning from their support guy was always called "John".

how will a locked tread about a scamsite prevent a noobie to be scammed ???

what realy would be cool is that owner/admin should make a scam section so people could look up what's the rotten appel in the bitcoinworld.

And while we at it, why not a legit section so people could look up the good sites in bitcoinworld.
