Title: Blockchain Downtime Issues Again
Post by: bitcoinworks on October 27, 2015, 07:32:22 PM
They have mentioned from my support response that such problems as wallets displaying improper balances, users unable to send funds, "Maximum concurrent requests" errors.

Why are still experiencing such problems!!!! I am starting to feel that they are under attack due to popular demand! People are HATERS and are here in this world to destroy any good.

because blockchain.info (service, not the actual bitcoin blockchain) absolutely sucks. Their code and service is just bad, and sorely needs to be fixed. Don't bother trying to use them for now, use other explorers and apis like blocktrail, blockr, blockcypher, or one of the tens of other explorers and apis.

Yes, I swear to God, I feel like I parrot, I have repeated this 20 times in the last 10 days.

People, ditch the blockchain.info, both wallet and block explorer. They suck, they are buggy as hell. Even Bitcoin.org has removed them from their list of official wallets. This means something!

Maybe they are fixing things uo. Just avoid using it at all cost, wthe wallet or the block explorer are faulty at the moment so to prevent more complain go and leave then use another client. It's for the best. ;)

I still can't send my bitcoins and I really need to use them. I'm seriously considering changing wallets after all these issues. Can you guys send payments yet ?

Just don't use it. That simple. Export your priv keys to some other wallet, like Electrum.

Well those of us that don't use third party service as bitcoin wallet can :). Just switch to core or even better electrum, and you won't depend on blockchain.info's poor
maintenence. For me it is still the most attracting blockexplorer, but in terms of wallets, i would never use them or any other third party service/solution.
btw they seam to be up and running now.

cheers

Stop using blockchain.info as a block explorer or wallet. They have been extremely bad in terms of support and had lots of software problems. It is definitely unacceptable as they are one of the more popular block explorers around. They had various security issues that has raised recently, e.g. displaying transactions on their blockchain without validating the validity of the transaction.

...

Well, the sad thing about blockchain.info being such a sleazy service (in terms of downtime) is that my wallet there is not only unavailable, but that their SharedCoin (BTC mixing for privacy) service does not work either.

Other than bitmixer.io (http://bitmixer.io), that SharedCoin service is about the only mixing service that works with few complaints.  Both work well for me.  Both services use different techniques to mix BTC, using them both in series seems to provide extremely robust privacy, at least to attackers without very special tools...
