Title: Project 100 Bitcoin Nodes
Post by: ALXBOB on October 28, 2015, 12:09:00 PM
I currently setup 20 bitcoin nodes i plan to get another 10 next week. The project goal is 100 nodes to different providers/places until christmas and maintain them for as long as possible providing stability and decentralization.

I am currently working on a docker version (both core and xt) for ease migration and failover.

Current nodes:

45.55.252.1

159.203.24.185

46.101.246.89

188.166.238.182

159.203.241.10

198.211.110.172

162.243.11.173

159.203.24.187

46.101.179.237

178.62.21.124

104.236.153.76

188.166.37.120

188.166.98.96

198.211.112.193

159.203.117.146

159.203.117.226

188.166.230.152

188.166.72.172

178.62.124.231

128.199.240.104

You can check them https://bitnodes.21.co/

These nodes are not used for mining

There is no profit from maintaining this nodes

Witch network speed is necessary to run a node? And there is any company selling raspberry pi computers (or similar) ready to use as a node?
Thanks.

He? Who are you talking about now? Lets not derail this thread further please.

I dont see any future for XT since its lacking support, the number of nodes is insignificant and does not matter anyway as its dangerous forking mechanism relies on miners. If you have a different opinion thats fine.

If OP wants to setup XT nodes thats fine with me as well, I was just curious as to why as IMHO its apparent that there is no future for it. OP also stated that they setup XT and core nodes and I was curious as to why there are no core nodes yet.

Someone else ran a similar project about a year ago, but I think ran out of money and closed down the nodes.  It would be nice if a portion of the mining reward went to a random full verifiable node on the network. Sadly, it doesn't and nodes and mining are no longer related. I run three nodes myself, but it's out of my own pocket to do so. Hopefully your project gains traction and you get some solid donations.
