This brings me right back to late 2013. Every other post on the wall observer thread was 'China is waking up.'

It's a bit sad after all these amazing developments that we're still dependent on a country that has no real use for it nor has come up with a single innovation. Still, cash is cash.

thay can invast in securaties outsayde china, or try to escape anny capital control in their country, or maybe they are just fed up with their stockmarket

Well, the volume on the Chinese exchanges is about 10-15 times the volume on the western exchanges. China going to lead the new bubble if we'll have one.

Those volumes are with 0% transaction fees. Not many people believe those volumes. They could be generated artificially. If the fee is 0.1%, the volume will drop a lot.

if bitcoins becomes like the chinese stock market, we are fucked....

I always consider the volume of Chinese exchanges Huobi and OKCoin to be 10 times lower than what they show. Currently Huobi's 24H volume is 710,000BTC, which is totally insane. 710,000BTC and then 10 times less = 71,000BTC which will still keep them at the nr1 spot regarding trading volume. These fake volumes are way too obvious. They probably don't care to hide it.

China isn't a continent lol. China has 5 time zones in it, so it really is location dependent if you'd ask me. Beijing and Hongkong are still asleep or will be going to sleep just now (10:52 pm). But idk, there seems to be a lot of caffeinated traders all over the world.

China spans 5 time zones, but China Standard Time (http://www.timeanddate.com/time/map/) is used throughout (HK and Macao have their own time standards, but in practice they're also on CST).

They are doing something in the land of the rising sun this morning. The price just zoomed in to $315 territory!

The context is still there though, I just used a word that seems to complicate things. :D Even if they use CST or any other time standards, that doesn't change the fact that the place where most people are in is still nighttime.

More people live in the China/Japan/South east Asia zone than in the rest of the world, so if bitcoin is an epidemic that has to break loose it's more probable to break loose in that zone .

The Chinese dragon waked up hungry of Bitcoins, China is a big country with a very large amount of people if only 1/1000 of them wants to have 1 Bitcoin that was 1,35 milions of bitcoins.

That is a very large amount of people if they just start to invest in bitcoin.
There are not very much bitcoin in the market and not much left to mine.
If they start to buy then the price of 1BTC will start increasing rapidly.

You need to add India, Indonesia and other Asia population so that the total population equals the rest of the world. If Indian people wake up to know bitcoin, the impact will be enormous. If they divest 1% of their gold purchasing money into bitcoin, the price will rise fast.

Yes that is true only 2 countries China and India has almost half population of the world so if succeed to rise awareness about bitcoin in India too than it will be great impact and we will see $1000 even more than that.

When we invest, we need to assess many conditions. So many IFs are used.

If bitcoin is still there in 5 years time, the price will be much higher.

Why is China called the dragon?  ???

China tends to wake up in the morning or at least its market but volume and trade wise without news.
I doubt the market price of coins will go up much anytime today.

I think this thread was over: why giving life to it again? If you want to know why China is associate to a dragon you can find all the knowledge you need out there.

 As opposed to sensible countries like the US (spans 4 + alaska and hawaii) or Canada (spans 6.5 IIRC?) or the USSR (spans about 13) - though the adherence to Daylight Stupid Time is ALMOST as stupid as trying to keep a country as large as China on one standard timezone.


 China has long used a dragon as part of the symbolism for it's country, it's just not been OFFICIAL symbolism since Mao managed to kick Chang and followers off the mainland.

USA, as a land mass, is bigger than China. China just has a much bigger population, even though India will soon surpass China in that department.

The reason why China has 5 time zones is because their dickhead dictator decided to UPSTAGE worthwhile nations like the USA, so he decided to make Beijing, China's Capital City, a special time zone. Nothing to do with geography, distance, rhyme, or logic, just pure insanity/madness/nationalistic hysteria.

When I see China on a map, it looks like a chicken or a hen. Japan, on the other hand, looks like a dragon, on a map. Go see for yourself.
