Many venture capital firms have consultants on their staff that are well versed in specific markets. This can help a start up firm avoid many of the pitfalls that are often associated with start-up business ventures.
Also starting a new business is fraught with concerns about legal matters, payroll matters, and tax issues. It is not unusual for a venture capital firm to take an interest in providing these resources since they have a vested interest in the success of the company. Post by: reRaise on October 29, 2015, 02:29:05 PM GetGems is vc backed by Magma (http://www.magmavc.com/portfolio/portfolio-companies.html) which also backed Waze, that's why besides Bitcoin it has been pretty successful and active outside the Crypto community. Today it's another major day for them where they are competing in the finals at 43north (http://www.43north.org/).
