Title: unconfirmed transaction
Post by: Succub on October 29, 2015, 06:38:58 PM
Hi there,

i've made this transaction more than 36 hours ago and still nothing.
Status: 0/unconfirmed
Date: 28/10/2015 02:22
To: 1GHjqGbMZ2Z3cbFmV6k58CGraVN3uEW6b2
Debit: -0.10000000 BTC
Transaction fee: -0.00000225 BTC
Net amount: -0.10000225 BTC
Transaction ID: 966dcc579cfc0316c988c5cf8e8055bba84e2fa8d8048f57cf1e0e955c8ecce7-000

is there something to do to speed it up or should I just wait ?

It is taking so long because of the fee I believe. Transactions that take 10k satoshis (blockchain/xapo AFAIK) will get confirmed in 5-10 minutes.

I use bitcoin core and when I set the fastest confirmation time It sets the lowest transaction fees... strange...
How much time it can get before being confirmed ? at worse I mean.

Did you give it some time to gather data or did you open core, let it sync and created the TX right away?

I always wait for bqt to be up to date.
I'm just testing right now
within 2 blocks 24584 satos
full fast 373 satos (It's telling me smart fees not initialized yet. this usually take a few blocks, what does that mean ?)

It means that you need it to gather several blocks (which can take sevreal hours) so that it has enough data to estimate fees properly. This means that you need to leave it on for a few hours before sending a transaction. Just starting it up and then sending a transaction when everything is synced will not work and will result in bad fees.

That means you did not wait long enough for it to determine how high the fee must be in order to get your TX into the next block. I noticed this myself from time to time. It seems easier (faster) to determine a proper fee for 2+ blocks than for the next block.

erf ok...
So I guess, I have to wait.
in the worst scenario, how much time can it take ?

Worst case would be 8 days judging by the number of confirmations of your input and thus the priority. I would expect it confirms faster though. Keep core running if you can to make sure its rebroadcasting the TX from time to time.
