Title: Bitcoin at an Emerging Payments Conference in Bangalore
Post by: Benson Samuel on November 08, 2012, 08:31:54 PM
I get to introduce Cryptocurrencies at an Emerging Payments Event in Bangalore; As a panelist.

Courtesy of  Mobilecozy, who are working on a Bitcoin project with an European client.

This is an event hosted by Knowledgefaber and will be a very effective platform to get a wider audience in India involved with Bitcoin.

Android & Feature phones are most widely used.

iPhone is slowly gaining ground.

Lots of BB's as well.

Scared a few Bankers during the summit

As in worry about competitive threat (loss of resultant future banking activity) or or as in them not easily being able to figure out which customers are performing exchange and as a result their bank services being used for buying and selling of bitcoins?  Or ?? ??

We are not there yet Steve. Bitcoin was way ahead of its time at the conference.

'I hate it when someone introduces these free concepts. Payments is here for us to make money out of." was said by one of the Business Heads of a rather large payments company in India.

Will add a few more quips and publish ASAP. Just waiting for some pics come through from the conference.

That kind of response means you delivered the exact message that needed to be delivered.

Am still awaiting the official transcript. Luckily I had voice recorded the panel round, so here is an article on the conference.
