The both are good for traveling. For me the bike is for short destination, but the car is for long destination. We know that car pollutes the environment, so I think that the bike must to be more usable than car. :)

their is a lull in the conversation where things go quiet.. don't say,
"you know you just made this rape uncomfortable" to her..

reason no.23 why driving a car is bad.. this would never happen on a bike !

Well, this is a hard decision for me but, because I still don't drive I will choose bike. :)

Biking is on of my favorite hobbies during the summer. Near to the city river we have track for bikers and during the summer is full with people who love to drive bikes. On of things I would love to do is to listen some good music while I am driving. I prefer to listen some trance (psy or progressive), new age (sometimes) and techno.

I know that it is very risky while you are driving a bike to listen music, especially psy trance, but from my experience I can tell you that If you focus on the bike more then on the music you will not have that problem.

I also love cars, but I am not a fan of the sports models. I prefer to drive something luxuriously. ;)

Title: Re: Cars or Bikes?
Post by: knightkon on November 20, 2015, 01:21:17 PM
I am a car person.  I fear bikes because of the lack of protection I would have in an accident.  At least in a car I am more protected if I get into an accident.  Also, I am into my music.  You can not get a good system on a bike and you can not enjoy the music you do here when on your bike.  Cars all the way.

I prefer both depending on the situation at hand. I have a car and a super bike at my home. I most of the time use the car during the week days just visit the companies that I work with and when I attend meetings. The reason being the car helps me carry around my things with much easy compared to the bike. I also live in the hood with lots of rain. Since I am always out on official duty during the weekdays, it is the best option. The bike is used on weekends to just hang out with my dear wife.

Anyway, one important thing is weather too. If you live in a rainy, cold area riding bikes is quite difficult, so you gotta prefer cars.

Okay, even if still don't have a car I still love them! :)

Porche, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Aston Martin, Dodge, and Honda are definitely my favorite brands. If one day I will decide to buy a new car, then my choice will be:

The Volkswagen Scirocco name hadn't been seen on a new car since 1992 when production of the three-door model ceased.
Volkswagen has resurrected the name for this coupe, and with striking looks, sporty handling and strong performance it follows in the footsteps of its predecessor.

Good-looking coupe:
It certainly stands out thanks to the distinctive profile and aggressive front end but it's the handling which really impresses. Agile and surefooted it's great fun on twisting roads while a new adaptive suspension system means it's comfortable and smooth on the motorway too.
Despite that high roofline, the Scirocco’s not the practical coupe it initially looks with a smaller boot, tighter opening and rear seats for two, not three. If you need extra practicality then opt for the Golf instead.
While it demonstrates how capable the Golf-based underpinnings are underneath, they also take the edge off the ultimate driving satisfaction, compared to a BMW 2 Series for instance.

Mid-life facelifts:
From summer 2014 the Scirocco was facelifted featuring more distinctive and aggressive bumpers – the front one fitted with Golf GTI-style blades – a revised tailgate with the ‘VW’ logo now a functioning release handle and tweaked LED lights.
Under the bonnet were a revised range of petrol and diesel engines offering more power than before.
New alloy wheels and a refreshed interior, with extra dials completed the makeover.

Mercedes Benz:

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was a super-expensive supercar that boasted a top speed in excess of 200 mph and the ability to sprint from zero to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. Unless you were a CEO or media mogul, the SLR was unlikely to show up on your shopping list, as a new one cost around a half-million dollars. It's equally unlikely that you'll ever even see one, since overall sales numbers for the North American market were only in the hundreds before the car was discontinued in 2009.
In a nod to the original 300 SLR, the SLR McLaren featured doors that swing forward and up in a sort of gullwing-scissor combination. The interior included plentiful aluminum and carbon-fiber trim. Very fast and very expensive, the SLR McLaren was more of a toy for the ultra-rich than anything else.

Used Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was introduced for 2005 in a two-seat coupe body style.

The base SLR's hand-built 5.4-liter supercharged V8 pumped out 617 horsepower and 575 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission sent power to the rear wheels and featured a shift-it-yourself feature with steering-wheel-mounted paddles. According to Mercedes-Benz, the SLR could hit a top speed of 206 mph and sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Although bikes might be more cost-effective than cars, bike drivers face much greater dangers on the road.

A motorbike is obviously not going to offer the same kind of protection as you would get from a car, as you are not enclosed and, if thrown from the bike, could hit other objects or vehicles.

In a crash between a car and a motorcycle, the motorcyclist is 26 times more likely to be injured or killed compared to any of the occupants of the car.

Bikes are also less visible than cars and, because they have two wheels rather than four, they are less stable than cars. For example, if a type blew out on a car, you may be able to retain control of the vehicle thanks to the other three wheels, but if this happened on a motorbike, it is highly likely you would be thrown from the bike and suffer an injury.

The last bike I had was a Triumph Trident T160. That was great, and I wish I had kept it. I've got a 1939 Francis Barnett that I take to shows. It's got girder forks! Most of the time I use a van now. It's more useful for the projects that I am starting.

AMG series is one of the reasons why I love the Mercedes Benz so much! :)

Here is some short info about my favorite model 65:

The AMG power-plant has an all-new design of the bi-turbo system, which features larger turbochargers and a new, more powerful charge-air cooling system, and the increase in the engine displacement (to 5980 cc) as well as many other engine design measures. This allows it to produce a claimed 621 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque.

"65" models used a 5-speed automatic transmission for a long time, as the newer 7G-Tronic wasn't able to handle the torque from the V12 engines. This was changed with the introduction of 2012 SL65 AMG which uses the same AMG SpeedShift MCT transmission as the rest of the AMG line-up.
Coinciding with the facelift of the CL-Class for the 2011 model year, the 2011 CL65 AMG will have an enhanced engine, with AMG redesigning the exhaust gas turbochargers and adding new engine electronics. It will now make 621 horsepower, and go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds (0.2 seconds faster than the 2011 CL63), with an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph. The update will also improve fuel economy and reduce carbon emissions by 3.5% over the outgoing model.

2015 Volkswagen Passat

Pros
Above average passenger and cargo space; refined and quiet ride; fuel-efficient diesel engine; strong 1.8T and V6 engines; top safety scores.

Cons
Somewhat sluggish throttle response with DSG transmission; touchscreen electronics interface in SEL models is slow to respond; some of the latest safety features aren't available.

What's New for 2015
For 2015, the Volkswagen Passat TDI receives an updated engine that boasts 10 more horsepower and slightly better fuel efficiency than the previous one. Other changes are minor, consisting chiefly of minor equipment shuffling.

Some short review about one of the best cars in the world...

Volkswagen Golf
Volkswagen fits all Golf models with more than 118bhp with a sophisticated multi-link rear axle to help improve handling – although in most situations the standard torsion beam set-up feels equally composed.

Eco-friendly BlueMotion models now drive in exactly the same manner as other versions. This is thanks largely to the adoption of a much more precise six-speed manual gearbox in place of the old five-speed unit (now fitted only to the 1.2 petrol). BlueMotion Golfs can also come with VW's six-speed DSG semi-automatic gearbox, which while good in other models, is geared to be as eco-friendly as possible, consequently the manual is nicer to use.
The excellent DSG gearbox has the option of steering wheel-mounted paddles. However, the seven-speed unit used on lower-powered models is smoother than the six-speed version that’s optional on 2.0-litre TDI and 2.0-litre petrol models.
If fun is top of your priority list, then opt for a GTD, GTI or R version. The GTD offers plenty of torque for effortless overtaking. Don't be fooled by the GTE though: despite the name, it's no hot hatch. It may be faster in a straight line than the GTD, but the added weight means it's not much fun in the corners.
True performance fans will be drawn to the flagship R model. Available as a hatchback or an estate, the Golf R gets 296bhp and four-wheel drive. It feels very sharp to drive and packs a tremendous amount of grip. It really is the ultimate Golf, and shames rivals costing £10,000 more.
However, for most keen drivers, the legendary Volkswagen Golf GTI delivers an ideal mix of performance, value and fun. Standard cars get 216bhp, but we’d recommend upgrading to the Performance Pack. This costs £995 extra and includes a 10bhp power boost, bigger front brakes and a clever electronically controlled front differential that boosts traction and reduces understeer.

Aston Martin One-77

Aston Martin planned the One-77 to be its ultimate car, bespoke to each customer, with only 77 made and a price tag of more than £1million. Once they were all sold, there were to be no more produced and there were to be absolutely no press drives.

But getting hold of a customer car is a different story, and it’s thanks to the kindness of a very lucky One-77 owner that we’ve managed to take the wheel of the ultimate Aston creation.
As soon as we laid eyes on the One-77, we were blown away by its outlandishly curvaceous aluminium body. It’s recognisable as an Aston, but has beautiful details such as the aggressive creases on the doors, looping tail-lights and huge rear diffuser. Pull open the lightweight door and you’re presented with bare carbon-fibre on the sills, door panels, floor and even on the bulkhead behind the seats.
Almost every other surface is trimmed in leather, with black anodised aluminium and a glinting hoop of rose gold on the centre console completing this very special interior.

Aston Martin DB9

The DB9 was conceived specifically as a GT and you should expect it to handle as such; there’s a big V12 hanging out there at the front, so it shades to understeer when you really push. You can cure the tendency with a stab of throttle, but that’s not really the point. A bit firm if we’re being pedantic. Volante drop-top a tad wobbly around the edges.

Power’s up from 470bhp to 510bhp, torque rises to 457lb ft and the 0-62mph dash now takes 4.6 seconds. The six-speed, paddle-override ZF auto is also supreme at making those shifts work for you and if that isn’t enough, it sounds like it’s doing 200mph when you start it up (even if it tops out at 183mph). Is it good? Yes. Very.

There’s nothing like a bit of raw bamboo/teak/cherrywood to get the pulse racing and a pure crystal starter button is no bad thing when you’re out to impress. Suffice to say the DB9 is a pretty special place to spend time. There have been gripes about some electrical issues, so it’s not all a bed of roses, but overall the quality is where it should be: stratospheric.
A DB9 has enough space to accommodate two people and an overnight bag of some considerable size. That’s plenty.

Dodge Challenger 2015

Pros
Strong V8 engines, topped by the new 707-hp Hellcat; supple, quiet ride; room for four adults; huge trunk.

Cons
Poor rearward visibility; beefy size dulls acceleration and handling.

What's New for 2015
For 2015, the Dodge Challenger gets a major overhaul. Headlining the act is the new SRT Hellcat, which gets a supercharged V8 engine good for a rather outlandish 707 hp. On all Challengers, you'll find new styling details, a revised and upgraded interior and a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

Dodge Charger 2015

Pros
Smooth yet controlled ride; roomy interior with quality materials; hugely potent V8s; available all-wheel drive; excellent touchscreen electronics interfaces.

Cons
Lower fuel efficiency of V8-heavy lineup; limited rear visibility; less rear legroom than other full-size sedans.

What's New for 2015

The 2015 Dodge Charger is heavily updated inside and out. An eight-speed automatic transmission is now standard across the board. The Charger's V8 engines no longer can be coupled with all-wheel drive, although AWD is still available with the V6. New R/T Road & Track, R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat models join the lineup. The Hellcat features a new, supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that generates an eye-bulging 707 hp. The 2015 Charger also adopts a host of new electronic driver aids and safety features, including a frontal collision warning and mitigation system.

Pros
Zesty and fuel-efficient turbocharged engine; advanced infotainment and safety technology; roomy cabin; big trunk; satisfying handling.

Cons
A bit pricier than some rivals.

What's New for 2016
The 2016 Honda Civic is fully redesigned. For now, only the sedan and the mainstream trim levels are available. The coupe and a new four-door hatchback body style will arrive later in the model year, as will the high-performance Si and new Civic Type R. The Civic Hybrid and Natural Gas have been discontinued.
