Title: In about 13-15 months from now...
Post by: Wepp on June 05, 2011, 05:34:09 PM
The number of Bitcoins generated per block starts at 50 and is halved every 210,000 blocks.

That will be an interesting day.

It is merely the equivalent of a 100% increase in difficulty (from an individual miner's payout perspective). Historically, the difficulty has increased by over 100% every 5 weeks or so.

For miners it's almost the same as just increasing difficulty twice.
And I think that 13 months is more than enough for increasing difficulty even more :)
