Title: Bots allowed ?
Post by: OmegaStarScream on November 01, 2015, 08:48:19 AM
I'm suspecting that there is some bots on the forums , and I'm not sure if it's just me , but lately I see a lot of users (probably same one) posting something like "oh , glad u are back" , "oh hi dude , it being long time ? where did you go" (It happened to me once even if I don't even know the dude , not sure about you but it doesn't seem normal to me) ... basically they post for increasing post-count and probably sell it later or something ..
So I'm wondering if this kind of things is allowed or not ? (making a smart-bot then start posting to increase post count and make shitload of accounts)

Botted posts are not allowed, if you find such accounts report them here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1163169.msg12847762#new

Can you give examples? I haven't seen any of these but using bots to spam rubbish isn't ok.

I may be wrong and it may be little bit confusing , but bare with me please :

codishmumu posting here (speaking to me) : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1231796.msg12832721#msg12832721
then CoinHopper made this topic here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1219811
then CoinSkipper said this "Oh, yes. OP, haven't seen you in a while! Come back! Fix your typo!" by quoting Mickeyb post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1219811.msg12840178#msg12840178

Both CoinSkipper & CoinHopper accounts has been made on the same day in basically same hour (few minutes delay) and the name are pretty Identical "CoinHopper" "CoinSkipper" and codishmumu posted the same thing as CoinSkipper with the same way and also logged off in the same time (minutes/secondes delay)

There is probably more and I may just didn't find the others . not sure if I'm missing something here .

The second and third links are identical. Did you miss something?

Bots are allowed and are subject to the same rules as human accounts.

The rules are the same as for humans. But keep in mind:
- No one is allowed to access the site more often than once per second on average. (Somewhat higher burst accesses are OK.)
- Every post must be on-topic. Any bot response to a topic is almost certainly off-topic. Changetip's behavior of responding to user commands publicly would not be allowed, for example.
- If someone complains about an unsolicited PM you send them, then you're probably going to be banned.

If you find a bot / human just copying posts, report it like mexxer-2 said, and the bot accounts will get banned.
