Year, that the really awesome thing about bitcoin. When I purchased something for the first time. I was like "What, wait. I have already paid yet!"

Unfortunately for me, I either already purchased the products (alpaca socks, VPN, ...) on offer or the shipping is prohibitively expensive to europe (honey, chocholate,...)

Agreed, I am very impressed with how it has gone so far (It's not over yet, a few hours to go!). If anything it is definitely spreading awareness of how much you can actually buy with bitcoins. The bitcoin marketplace is growing daily in my opinion. It's fantastic!

Was a great idea to have Bitcoin-Friday. Wait for next year when selling 1 Bitcoin for $100 then it will be fun to go shopping. :)

Ended up getting a pair of socks, some silver, and some casascius coins.  I really enjoyed it, now there's just a few outstanding questions I have:

1) how much of a swing did merchants see on Friday compared to regular volume?
2) Assuming merchants are planning on converting BTC to fiat, will that cause any swings on exchanges, or will it remain flat because of equal number of customers buying BTC to replenish what was spent?

I tied https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=123624.0 phishing around for this info, with little succes sofar. On my part I propably wont convert to fiat anytime soon.

I think this was a real success last year.  :)
