It can go very high, like all time high.

Everyone likes to give their opinion but no one really knows what the future will bring us.

What a time to be alive. :)

Yep, so quick that a sudden drop can't be removed in peoples thought if ever. ;D
I think we are only at yhe beginning tho, there is no telling to which point this trend will stop but with the current price increase, I think there are more to come. :)

personally due to the sudden rise in price... sooner or later someone is going to dump a rather lot of coins causing a drop and then people will follow suit.. i would like to be wrong but the price has gone up too quick for it to stay stable?

Me too, I was greatly moved when I learned that the price ESCALATED SO QUICK that I have to check all the available bitcoin price ticker to see whether it is real or not. :v Good thing that I haven't sold yet. Looks like this is going til new ATH. Small corrections have been present lately and we managed to get off of it with quick rebounds,

Yup! I think it will still goes up until tomorrow in some of my source was right hehe just kidding I have read some article about investors predicting the bitcoins movement and by november 5 it is great to convert your bitcoins by then before it goes down,  I wish it will not go down :(

there won't be dumps forever in the range of 230-1200, because it was a range that was already played, the more you play on the same, the more buyers you have at that range

this translate into less dumping after a certain amount of time

Do people not think when the auction comes that will cause a drop in the price or cause it to increase more?

Title: Re: Well that escalated quickly

This can go up to 3500 now. Most people would not dump below 1500.

Nobody knows anyway. Chinese market are crazy. Bitcoin just hit $450 for the first time in 2015.

People here would be happy if bitcoin continue to rise. But i think price stability is more important. Let say about $500-600 :D.

well it will be interesting to see what happens after the auction. imagine the pump if it happened after the sale that guy would be making some serious profit

It would be nice for it to keep rising but the problem is that good things will come to a end...it cant possibly keep rising at the rate it is going currently... well i say its cant happen. i would like to see what the auction would do to the market.

Historically it seems like we always have a quick drop off when the price rises, but now weve gone up ~$200 or so, I would have expected it to already dropped.  Maybe this time is different!

Possibly not, governments do not publicly own much coins and they do not support it either. And why specifically there?

The prices has been rising crazily over the past few hours or days. Judging on the prices on Chinese exchange, I would say the main reason is due to the lifting of restrictions on the deposits on the chinese exchanges.

This is true but the problem is someone is sitting with a rather lot of BTC waiting until they think it wont go much further and dum all his coins and make a tidy return.

It's still way to bloody early to call a top on this yet, the momentum is akin to the 2011 and 2013/2014 rallies when it moves at this pace the market just appreciates for a while either way I'm looking forward to 1 Grand for now and some.
How far into new territory it goes is the question until I feel a pace change to a stable level just going to say its going up.

Call me a skeptic, but I have heard it floating around for a while and now am hearing some people come forward about it. There is a certain China based group that may be assisting with this pump in price. This happened back in the early 90s as well (obviously not with btc). This involved a similar ponzi group with a similar group name. IF they are involved with this then when they dump they will spiral it down fairly quickly.

I guess it will reach $500 mark before the day end. And I think in the second week of november it will hit around $600 to $700 price.

Are you sure it's gonna up that high? that is a very unrealistic predictions you got there, in my thoughts it will just go up to $550 that is the safest prediction you can say until the halving occur

Most of the movement seem to come from the Chinese markets and that auction will benefit the US government. I doubt that the US will channel money via China to pump the price for a higher selling price at auction. We will just need to ride this out to the end, but I know it is a good time to buy Xmas gifts now.

Some news has had a delayed reaction from investors, and I think positive sentiments coming from the Chinese government, has had a lot to do with this.  ;)

many bought at 600+, and they will not sell for less, and other have bought at 1k also, why it should stop at a mere 550?

no sense to me, this cna surpass easily the last ath, 3500 is not an unrealistic estimate

Well that is just my opinion, and some speculations that I have just red that is why I come up with $550 but is it good that bitcoin is still going up, if this keeps up it will certainly reach the 1k last speculation that I think bitcoin will hit.

Is going high like an arrow just released from its arc. But I agree that the main concern is and will be the sustainability of this "high". It will be ably this fast bitcoin to stay there where will be stopped. Or at least near that amount? This is the 1 million us dollar question to be solved. It is hard to believe that it will be seeing its story.

In 2013 there were lots of retraces when the price crashed before continuing up. The biggest one was when the US held meeting to decide whether to ban Bitcoin, and it sticks out on this chart like a sore thumb. The minute they announced they weren't going to ban it the price shot straight back up.

Not much in my opinion. Whoever buys in these auctions will not sell right away. Buyers in these auctions are actually paying over the premium just so they could buy large amount of bitcoins at the same prices. As this wouldn't be possible on regular exchanges without pushing the price through the roof.

Nothing has happened to the price after other auctions so nothing will probably happen after this one either.

Told people not to start taking out loans believing that the Bitcoin price would keep increasing. I assumed that the BTC price was still hovering around $400 until I checked Bitstamp on my phone at around 1:30pm (UK time) today, imagine my surprise when we were just shy of $500 in such a short time period. That should already raise a flag about a bubble :-\

ironic how bitcoin is supposed to be the currency of financial freedom.

the thread of being restricted should not matter all that much.

Yup! I think it is a good achievement for the bitcoin community the first time I started in bitcointalk bitcoin is on $266 now it is on $396 not a bad achievement for us right? Wish it still goes up!

I considered being lucky if we finish the year above $300 few weeks ago when this run has started. That being said, current $400 on Bitfinex is more than good for me. Of course, there will always be unsatisfied people out there!

Then, here we are. The story is ended and the escalation was very higher and in the same way, faster. But the same even the decrease. With a particularity which is the new one to be noted. Not at the beginning price. For the moment (must be told always such expression when is spoken for the price of bitcoin). This is the very big news. If bitcoin will remain here where it is, we have a big achievement. And a little verification of the told to many time, theory as it is written following. That one who told that the real increase of demand and the real further spread of bitcoin will make the price increased and not only this but even its stabilization in a newer one, bigger than the previous. As a bitcoiner I wouldn't desire nothing else that the verify of this theoretical hypothesis (for bitcoin).
