Title: [MasterBrain's fair lottery] - [$2.50 per slot]
Post by: MasterBrain on November 04, 2015, 01:01:32 PM

I know that I'm a new guy on bitcointalk but I'm fairly trusted on MPGH (I used to exchange over $500BTC for PayPal)

My MPGH profile:http://www.mpgh.net/forum/member.php?u=3215730

I'm willing to send a PM if needed so.

So this is my vision. There are 100 "slots" you choose the number 1-100; 1 slot for $2.50BTC (MAX 5) When there's at least 20 slots sold I will begin a live stream and use random.org for the final winner. The winner receives 90% of the total pot! This is the fairest it gets coming down to fairness.

I was planning to make a stream every Wednesday or so it really depends on what other people want.

What makes you trust worthy to handle all of the money? You willing to accept Escrow?

First you dont have trust yet to hold the funds for this lottery and second 10% fees is too much IMO

As stated above I'm a new guy here but I'm willing to do whatever to do to gain trust if Escrow is one of them then let it be. 10% fee to much? How about 5%

What makes you trust worthy to handle all of the money? You willing to accept Escrow?

I'm willing to accept Escrow.

no one believes if you just give the link a person's profile , everyone can do that
I made a new account and claimed the admin of this forum and provide  link admin
you believe ?
of course not , so my advice you should use the escrow.

Idk why you say that but I clearly stated that I'M WILLING to PM ON MPGH. Thats if people don't believe me. Can't get closer than that really.
besides that could you give me the correct link to the escrow service?

I'm willing to accept Escrow.

5% fee is still too much, i can gamble on dice instead of lottery for much lower edge/fees and i can verify each result. How about that?

Or you could just make a simple website with 100 slots, it requires the user to pay $2.50 per slot and pick 1 - 5 slots from the 100, then it automatically selects 1-5 of the 100 slots, if the user hits one of the prized slots, he wins double his money.

Hire a coder to make this for you, and you will earn some money for sure.

About that is this that here with one "shot", "ticket" or whatever you can win much more that 99%. If there will be only one winner and 20 players and entrance will cost $2.5 It is more/less: 20*2.5=$50 - 5% fee ($2.5) = $47.50

So for $2.5 you are winning $47.50.

How about that?

But the chance you will get the right number is 1/100 (1%) before you can win, if you bet it on dice then you will get $250

How about this?

Or with 1% house edge on dice with the same chance as you posted you will surely get much more so your point is invalid

It is not 1/100 - it is 1/20 so that's 5%

If we count 100 players it will be 100*$2.5 = $250 - 5% fee = $237.5

I think a better comparison would be to bet on black / red on roulette ..

Okay how about $2.50 and you get 5 spots + the limit of placing bets is 20 then for $10 you get 20% to win and for $5 you get 10% That multiples pretty good I believe. (please tell me what works and what won't)

EDIT EDIT:

I get your point now
