Maybe post a source so we can at least know what you're referencing. 'I read somewhere on the internet.. ' is a little vague.

The difference is each time bitcoins circulate, the Goldman Sack doesn't get a cut.  Right now, when you swipe a credit or debit card, that generates revenues for banking related entities (many of which The Goldman Sack owns or owns shares in) up and down the chain.

Even when you pay with cash the retailer is depositing that cash in a bank account (oftentimes incurring a fee for each deposit), and then the bank makes money lending out 10X the amount on deposit (or leaving their excess reserves with the Fed while earning interest).   At a minimum, The Goldman Sack, as a primary dealer of the NY Fed, benefits from these reserves:

So if they were to own half of all of the bitcoins, that would be nice of them as that helps increase the exchange rate, which speculators (and Bitcoin entrepreneurs using their bitcoins as seed capital) would be grateful to The Goldman Sach for helping with that.

And then in the future if The Goldman Sack were to then sell those coins when the exchange rate is higher, there will at that time be other speculators thankful that a new supply of coins has arrived so that the price paid wasn't as high as it would have been if The Goldman Sack wasn't selling.

Im sure sooner or later bankers will also buy into bitcoin, but not untill bitcoins are worth at least 100 USD.
A market size of 100 million USD (value of all bitcoins) just isnt interessting to them.
When they are worth 1 billion bankers will notice, im sure.
Untill then the legal situation will be also more clear in most countrys.
We would also at least need 1 or 2 more mtgox like trading platforms with enough trading volume to support them.

Of course they exist. If they didn't, then Republicans would be rather silly for so frequently complaining about them, now wouldn't they?

No, they're always the adults in the room. Everyone else is wrong. I mean, how can you be wrong distinguishing between 'real rape' and all those other kinds of rape?

I guess 'real rape' is the kind that you can't get pregnant from (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/aug/19/republican-todd-akin-rape-pregnancy)?  ;D

If they did, would it matter? Either they'd be using them, in which case the bitcoin economy would be growing due to the extra activity, or hoarding them, in which case they'd be making everyone active's bitcoins worth more by removing theirs from circulation. If they hoarded them then started using them all at once it would cause some ripples, but by then the economy would have grown anyway, and would absorb any shock easily enough.

Don't worry about it!

i was going to do this myself for a laugh, but i think i'll instead try getting it done through the power of bitcoin bounties.

0.5 btc for a modification of the above image which basically adds a 3rd section under the Dwolla one:

THE BITCOIN NETWORK

which just has money going from Your Wallet to Receiver's wallet.

under that, instead of a blocked out credit card, put a blocked out dwolla logo.

try to make it all fit in with the same styling, same fonts, etc, like it's supposed to be there.

should only take a few minutes for a photoshop guru.

:D

Or with the bitcoin icons styled more in line with the rest of the image:

You need to expand the Dwolla part to include the ACH stuff and the 3 to 5 day delay.

and please remove the yellow colour of the dwolla icons;
would be nice if you could add a little yellow to the bitcoin icons though... just to make sure the focus stays on the right item ;)
