Im fairly new to the bitcoin so forgive me if im wrong in my understanding.
What would be your plans for your Bitcoins if the price per coin rose to 5 or even 10k+ each?


The question dawns on me after thinking about everyone that is saving their BTC for the future.


what happens if everyone that has bitcoins decided to hold on to the lot? if price spikes in a few years then everyone sells? for the same fiat everyone says bitcoin kills? (not a rhetorical question nor sarcasm)

My HOPE is if the bitcoin price surges to ridiculous heights, the bitcoins i have will be able to be spent JUST as i spend my GBP now,

if bitcoin ever got to 10k per coin, ill be spending not selling, is this the same for most? orrrr?

My current approach is, whatever BTC i gain, i will save a little and will spend a little regardless of market value (unless it dropped bellow $150 in which case buy buy buy lol but from what ive read i doubt this) but isnt the spending of the btc what helps in grow? or am i mistaken?

I will hold most of my coins as saving. I will also use some of the coins to purchase goods/services so as to make bitcoin useful to the society.

a house is definitely on my agenda if the price was to sky rocket lol I want also to be able to buy some everyday things too,i imagine one day using BTC to pay for gas @ service stations, with some sort of paying kiosk that maybe scans my QR for Payment.

Buy a house, and take care of family

I would only enjoy a family holiday the rest would be saved & spent on silver and gold which I would never get to spend nor enjoy but would look down with a smile on the ones I love who will. What helps the price grow can be spending if people are demanding the btc when there is smaller supply to the demand.

If bitcoin reaches $10k i can buy a house with my current bitcoin holdings.

If we reach 10k you can be damn certain I'm hodling 90% of my stash. Because if we're able to reach that number, 6 figures are around the corner.

I hope get more bitcoins via leveraged long positions (futures contracts), and then may be convert profit into gold coins.

If bitcoins goes to 5.000 or 10.000 $ i will sell some bitcoins to buy a new car and will secure a part of my bitcoins on a metal paper wallet with laser engraving.

i would like to buy an house, but i would prefer to do it with bitcoin, surely i'm going to begin to use bitcoin around 5k-10k range, and something at 3k

i hope that by then i would be able to buy directly with bitcoin, i don't want to touch fiat anymore

Although i would LOVE for a 6 figure number for BTC1.0 how likely is this really? i mean how many new millionaires would than generate? and what would it mean for the rest of the world that at that point that either dont have any BTC or not a large amount? (lets say a few $thousand worth)

Just done a quick search for how many millionaire there are globally and estimate lay between 14 & 20 million millionaire currently.
Now how many people today have more than BTC1.0? and how much will that number rise between Now @ $413 per btc (coindesks current rate) and the 1million dollar mark?

What would that reflect in the amount of millionaires there are globally? furthermore, will $1mill @ todays value be the same as $1mill by the the time the BTC is worth 6 figure per coin?

If you guys plan on buying a house, take into account the tax. You'll need to tax the BTC you use to buy them, so you need to make gains that are + the house price + whatever tax needed to be applied. So yeah it sucks because you may have 500K in BTC, but as soon as you want to buy a house you get taxed and I have no idea how much that that tax it but I assume it's a lot.

Kind of invalid original post.  You can already do things like buy Lamborghinis and houses using Bitcoin, you don't have to convert to fiat.  As Bitcoin goes up, people who are all in on Bitcoin will diversify into other things like land or hookers in the case of Mark Karpeles.  When it hits $10,000 or more the price doesn't just implode from everyone buying things.  The higher the market cap goes, the more desirable it is.

don't buy anything ... IRS (tax) is more strong than you.
but, when you loan ... they can't freeze anything income.
they can't only close your account.

In the U.S. bitcoin is subject to capital gains tax (short term or long term). Short term tax is your highest marginal tax rate (up to 39% iirc), but you only get taxed on your gains (i.e. if you buy bitcoin at $200 and sell at $300, you'd have to pay tax on the $100 you gained). Long term capital gains tax is 15%, where long term is greater than 1 year (i.e. you buy bitcoin on January 1, 2015, you must sell after January 1, 2016 or any gains will be taxed as short term gains).

I'm not a tax professional, so ya know..

i would sell a part of my coins to enjoy the profits by buying myself a car or even a new house if the price will go insanely high. i think most people would do so. i will hold the other coins just in case it goes even higher.

If price of bitcoin reaches 10 k $ I am surely going to take early retirement and going to build a villa plus a business of real estate in future.I am holding to see that day as this will come soon in couple of years or sooner.

I would buy a Lamborghini with a number plate bearing the name Bitcoin. Although I could buy the lambo with Bitcoin, I would probably have to pay for the Bitcoin number plate with fiat. In fact I would need two lambos, one for best, and the other as a runabout car that I could park without worrying about someone keying the paintwork.

Well my plan is very simple to buy a good car with new home and to buy few trucks to start business of goods transportation and to become one of the big private contractor of my country.

As i see, $10000 Bitcoins would spoil you all. No one off you would hang on this forum anymore. Some would open truck business, some would get new house, some would get new girlfriends.  SmoothCurves would even buy a car with steering wheel on wrong side.

I hope Bitcoin never gets to $10000 so we all stay here and complain about the price.   ::)

First I would pay off my student loans. Then I would use it to buy a house, so I can enjoy low interest on a mortgage for the rest of my life.

If there is something left, I'll put in in some savings or retirement investments.

If 1 BTC ever sells for $100k I will run naked down the main street of my city at lunch time.

Bought a handful of coins last month in September at $228 USD from a person that already experienced an astronomic percentage gain  He's no longer tied down to a job and travels the world.  He's now an investor for new technologies to further Bitcoin.  Sold me Bitcoins for spending money in my country.  

This was an Australian bloke that bought at $5 per BTC.

I believe in a few year's time, your $228 purchase will look like his $5 purchase in the past. With the wide usage of bitcoin, the value of bitcoin will increase in the future, although not as dramatic as in the early years.

You can also become an investor for new technologies.

My plans for my Bitcoin when the price increases to a very high stage is to use them to create Bitcoin related websites. Like you, I wanted to save my Bitcoin. However, I always spend most of them in the end. Earning around 0.1 BTC every month I spent above 0.7 BTC the next month. :/.

We are keeping our dreams humble and in reach :) hopefully within 5 years, we will get to start living them.

I will think and decide in that moment. For now my aim is to have as much as I can find and accumulate. For sure, if that price will be faster than I can imagine or better think, some of those will go for the University of my daughters. If it will be later (that's my "prediction") I have no plans and don't want to have. It is better when have the money to do the plans then make the plans and then see that cannot be realized. Not because bitcoin will not reach the price I think but maybe cannot be me to arrive that price. ;)

Yes. Trading bitcoin is a dangerous business, most of us will lose out. That is like the stock day trading.

It depends on the future bitcoin value. For now bubbles seem to be quite sparse and nothing compared to that huge spike of November 2013.
If bitcoin value ever reach $1000 again I will probably sell huge part of my coins.

as long as they are satisfied and they have reach their target, i don't think they will have soemthing to regret

i am from India and i noticed that there is very big fluctuation in INR to BTC but major hurdle is that every time i need to purchase Virtual USD it also reflect major change and every time i have to discount for purchase as well as sell of bit coin. kindly tell me how to accumulate the Discount charges.

Same for me. I would probably think about selling half for goods/ services and save the half BTCs for a rainy day.

I will hold most of my coins. If the price rises too much, I will sell some, and buy back when the price comes down.

The plans depend upon the size/amount of Bitcoins one might have during the time BTC rockets...
If I have 10 BTC and the price rises to $10k, I would just sell them all and buy a house for my mother and gift her, will invest some in real estate too, and will try to arbitrage at other exchanges too based on current fluctuations and spreads...

Price doesn't matter. Imagine 1 Bitcoin reached @ 1mil usd each, and you sold all of your btcs for usd.

What do you think you'll be? You'll be damn poor. USD won't worth anything, but bitcoin will.

Yeah but when we say worth 10k+ etc where talking value (which is also why i said if it did reach 10k+ i would "Spend" my bitcoin not "Sell" Them.

Also i do personally think were a very long way away from doing away with fiat completely, in fact i do think if we do see that happen, it will be something our children & childrens children will witness & benifit from, or maybe in old age we will see, but for now i dont think the Dollar or the Pound are going anywhere lol

However i do believe one way or another, Fiat will eventually become a thing of the past.

I shall not sell all my bitcoin for USD. When I need to use money, I will use bitcoin. If I cannot use bitcoin directly, I will convert it to Dollar then use the Dollar.
However, when the bitcoin price reaches $1M, it means it is widely adopted, used universally, I do not have to change to fiat to use it. That may take several decades to achieve.

It is a good plan. But if bitcoin price rises dramatically, if you hold your bitcoin for a little longer you can buy more things with the existing bitcoin and will still have some bitcoins left.
But we do not know the price performance tomorrow. So it may be better to cash in and enjoy life now. It is for individual to choose their best investment strategy.

Have you just finished to read "20 000 lega under the sea" of Jules Verne? What do you do for on entire year within a submarine (suppose lonely because you have not mentioned company) thousand mile in the ocean? Just asking because me cannot stay within my home for a half entire day (12 hours) without going out and walk or meet someone. I know that everyone has its pleasures and no one pleasure (if don't do bad to someone) is right. But yours is to particular. And, according to me, hard to be realized. Not in the meaning that someday you cannot have that what you want to realize this your dream. A bitcoin holder (hopefully) will be able to realize such dreams and even biggers. But me seems very hard to stay in a prison for an entire year in the deep of the ocean only with yourself. Even in the real prison have activity to do and people to meet. Anyhow hope that your dream become true (as you wish).  :)

- looking for information about bitcoin price
- subscribe any bitcoin portal for watch price movement
- keep bitcoin for my investement about 5 year maybe

Instead of buying something you could use it on investment on your business or real estate or something because Investment will get spoil it ll show a good profit in your country currency also.If its reaches high I will select those kind of ideas only buddy

There's a certain amount that I'm spending and a certain amount I'm saving up for now.

I will keep using the bitcoin. I will also ask my employer to pay me in bitcoin. I will want shops to accept bitcoin.
