Title: Did you sell above 400$?
Post by: worhiper_-_ on November 06, 2015, 05:03:16 AM
I sold about 10% of the bitocoins I sold above 400$, I'll probably reconvert to bitcoin if the price gets closer to 330$. How did your trading seem this period? Do you think the price will keep moving downwards or is the bullish mood still in place?

I think peoples who are buying like mad in past days have stopped buying and start to sell. So i am selling whatever i have right now. It is bad to see the price of bitcoin keep on decreasing but i expect within next week it will again hit the floor of 230+. I am selling today and will buy back after one week.

Not really, I seriously sold a percentage of my BTC for USD. Of course, that doesn't make me a dedicated hodler keeping his precious coins in a multisig paper wallet buried underground but I wouldn't think that trading of this type should lead to labeling somene as "weak handed". I have plans to re-buy BTC and even consider doing it now that we're near 350. Long story short, I'm doing this to increase the number of BTC I hold. In fact, If I were to buy now I'd have succeeded at that.

I suggest you sell a little more of your BTC and wait for the price rise. The market will definitely continue its bullishness. I am waiting for it to cross the $400 mark again sometime soon.

I will be selling if I see a rapid rise above 400 again, I just don't see the market being that bullish after the price started nearing 350 again.

An honest thread!

If you picked up bitcoins in the $200s you would have been a fool not to sell over $400.

You have to ignore the bear/bull bullshit posted around here. It is one hellava lot more likely to drop back to sub $300 than to reach $1000. With that said, this is btc and anything is possible.

Lots of us waiting for the $1000(dream on) bitcoin while others make good money on the highs and lows.

I sold at 370, 400, 430 ,460 and 490, 10% of my holding at each level and would have continued selling till I had 10% left.
I started my buyback at 360 (filled) and hopefully the balance at 330 and 300.
If that is successful then my coins, bought over the last year, will effectively be free.

The 1 week chart is telling me to go long...

6 uninterrupted weeks of growth on the weekly chart with steady and consistent candle lengthening...

If you sold at 400 you better plan on buying back in somewhere above $330, unless you trade the <24h intervals...

Weren't you tempted to sell when the price went to 300+ then fell back down to almost 300. All the rallies since Christmas stalled at 300+ then crashed back down to 200ish. History didn't repeat itself this time but we have been in that cycle so long that people expected it to continue.

The question is not whether it will go to $500. Many people believe it eventually will.
The tough question is what to do when it gets there?  :)

I didn't sold because i was not focused to sell my bitcoins,
But seems that i made a mistake when the price went to 470s.
The price now dropped almost 100 USD so maybe we may have another chance at the end of the year.

I have to admit i sold part of my funds at 375, in hope for re-buy on a dip, but missed it. Sold another batch at 450$ which i managed to rebuy at 360$.
In the end i am at positive zero, but am hoping to buy some more if prices go under 300$ (doubt it, but still am prepared for that scenario)

No, because I was able to recognize abnormally fast price increase when it went to 500$ (edit: a rise to 300+ was not like that). The chart was begging for a correction. I couldn't deny free money. I was cautious though and only sold 0.5 BTC at 495$ :D so it's not a big deal, just a proof of concept for myself.

I sold some coins when it peaked at $365 and after that it went up to $500 :D In normal circumstances I wouldn't have sold, but I had to purchase furniture the day after I sold, so I sold some coins to take profits. I had an average profit of ~$130 per coin, which is still more than decent. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Thats the plan. I have bought bitcoin since it was 100 BTC for 50 USD. I have my stash. Since the market has semi-stabalized (bullshit) i buy whenever it is 250 USD or under and sell percentages at over 300 USD. I sold only about 4 BTC when it hit 400 USD. Seemed to good to be true (it was). I speculate it will hover around 300 - 350 USD until end of the year.

it depends. are we talking long term or short term? anywhere below $350 *should be* good enough if you're planning on holding for a year or more. I don't know about short term.

It all depends on your time frame. The recent uptrend proved to me that I was uberreluctant in picking up more bitcoins during this year. I should have bought in the 200s range but buying back around 330 or so isn't so bad either. Of course, I did sell a lot of Bitcoins for way more than ....800 actually. While you are picking up what you call easy cash, I am just glad I woke up and bought some coins to hold until...probably December 2016, at around this time I expect a new super bubble.

Don't get burned, the next wave up may well... stay up. Trading bitcoin works for so long, until it doesn't.
