Title: What's the Highest Share you have found?
Post by: Joshwaa on November 12, 2012, 11:48:10 PM
Cgminer now has the count of the highest share found, so it interested me enough to keep track. Figured we could have a thread of what everyone has found just for fun. So far the higest I have found is 33.4M

How about you?

wow, 33.4M that was definitely a block solver!

Wish I knew how to log the results, otherwise I will only see what goes by when Im actually looking at the miner =P

If you use CGMiner 2.8.7 or higher it leaves the high count up so you don't have to log.

I guess if you found a 3.4M then a 3.5M you would never know about the 3.4M but oh well.

cgminer should also show you the highest share on exit, and each pool information shows you if you found any blocks for them, either via the pool menu at runtime or the pool summary on exit.

I had a 28M and a 7M share.  Which are the two block solvers I have had...

I've seen a log where somebody had a 338,xxx,xxx diff share.

I'm showing 145m for one cgminer instance. So that was found in the last couple of days.

i got a 108M (or 103?) about a week ago, but I'd be surprised if I didn't have something higher from before (i didn't start looking until last 5 blocks or so and i have another 20-25 solved at 2m+ difficulty before that)

If the share's height >= current diff, then it would solve a new block if solo mining?
I use cgminer 2.7.5, since what version can we look at the highest share found?

New versions -> 2.8.7, 29th October 2012

The best share difficulty is now displayed in the status window at the top, and in the summary on exiting.

New versions: ->2.9.3, 11th November 2012

Solo mining will now show the best share diff as well, even if they're all below target.

What's wrong with just updating to the newest 2.10.5?

I've set up my rig for 24/7 mining since months now, with automatic scripts. Why break things when they work perfectly?
So this "best share" thing, if it's >= current diff it would theoretically discover a new block if solomining?

thats the very deffinition of difficulty. The higher it is the harder it is to find a block. If you find a 2.5m diff share it'll solve a 2.4m diff block butnot a 2.6m block.

This morning. I found a 2.48G share. 2480000000. 2.48 Billion

I've been watching the highest difficulty shares on my rigs since it was available. Never seen anything past the millions before.

Seems my rig is ready for Difficulty to go up times a 1000 even. :P

I was just looking for this in the BTC blockchain then I saw litecoinpool in the pool url....   ::)

Still cool to see just a 2Gh's machine find such a rare share.
