So, basically what's up with that?

It looks like BitInstant does not like Tor Users.

Bitinstant not like ip that can't trace-able?

Is that a Cloudflare message?

Dont know, not sure what cloudfire is. Didn't see it mentioned anywhere.

Read about the DDOS but I hope this doesnt continue. Obviously I care about BitInstant not allowing Tor and quite frankly, if it continues I'll just have to move towards OTC buys.

Use a VPN insted of Tor that should work.

Sure, as I've said before, I can understand it, I just hope that it doesn't continue.  I can always use a bridge relay so I'm not worried per se but I don't think blocking Tor should be a permanent thing.

I really don't care how you think I sound.  If you feel that this thread is full of stupidness, feel free to not participate.  From the level of your discourse, I don't think you'll be missed.

Hi everyone

It's true that we did indeed block tor - or rather we blocked 2 classes of IP addresses:

• Tor exit nodes - since the majority of the traffic came from here
• Any other IPs which we were being attacked from - whether or not a tor exit node

While the tor exit nodes are being unblocked slowly (we don't want our attacker to startup again), the second class is a bit of an overlap and so many tor users may receive block messages for a few days while we sort things out. If you are affected then you have a few options:

1 - Direct connection - while I appreciate the desire for privacy, this is the simplest solution and we strong data protection policies if you are concerned about your information (including your IP) - in fact, speaking only on behalf of myself and not the company i'd argue that tor seems unsuited for using our service as you still need to provide other personal information to us so that we can carry out your transaction - I would only recommend tor if you have a problem with local censorship - but that is just my own personal opinion and company policy is that we welcome all legitimate users

2 - Continue to use tor, but report your exit node's IP (PM myself or Yankee here, or use the regular support channels - we can whitelist your exit node's IP address ahead of schedule)

3 - Use a VPN (which you could sign up for via tor if you require a high degree of privacy)

4 - Wait until we unblock your exit node

5 - Restart your tor client, see if you get an unblocked exit node

Thank you for the update, you guys are awesome.  Sorry to hear about the recent attack and glad that the Tor blockage is only temporary, I had a moment where I thought it was related to AML laws or something.  Anyway, I'm glad and I think you guys have an awesome service!  ;)
