It is no secret that the Bitcoin subReddit is not the most fun and loving place on the Internet by any means. Over the past year or so, various reports have surfaced regarding /r:/Bitcoin being mismanaged, and comments are being downvoted – or even removed – at every turn. Things have really gotten out of hand once the discussion about Bitcoin block sizes started. Those discussions are now spilling over, and Coinbase could be effectively banned from all major Bitcoin platforms soon.

Coinbase is collecting patents on Bitcoin technology, assuring us that they'll be "good guys", while at the same time admitting they are doing so to enhance the valuation of their business.

Just parse that rambling post for the details, its all there. If theymos wants to punish them, its his stuff, he can do what he wants. I personally think Coinbase are going to be future bad actors, and I don't buy their flimsy defense of racking up Bitcoin patents.

I am not  a fan of Coinbase. I don't like that corporate mindset and I thing that Bitcoin technology should be patentless, and free to use for everyone.

Additionally I think Reddit is paradoxically a bad place to conduct a discussion. How good can be place where your comment can be down voted to oblivion or deleted?

After seeing the bullying tactics and rubbish posts by the XT shills here I think @theymos is doing the right thing.
