We've given everyone warning after warning after warning. Theymos even created a sticky thread for people to read to avoid PayPal/other reversible payment methods; but do most people listen? No.

Not everyone that buys BTC with Paypal is a scammer.

I've bought lots and have no intention of ripping anyone off.

As long as you deal with a reputable member with good trust you should be ok.

Deal with newbies or people without good trust and you're asking for trouble.

Use common sense and you should be alright.

If in any doubt deal in smaller amounts with several different people.

BTC trading by unofficial channels is way to risky. Accept that.

It's a scammers paradise. Just use official channels and accept the extra cost involved.

Benefit from the security that come with it.

I've been buying Bitcoin with Paypal for years and none of my customers have ever had an issue.

If there ever was an issue I'd do everything in my power to get them sorted out.

You have to remember that people can buy stolen Paypals on the backside of the web for Bitcoin at 10-25% face value of the account.

Stick with namefags that have a history of good trading and making sure people are taken care of.

Way more bad apples in the barrel than good apples at this point without a doubt.

I've been dealing with PayPal for the past 5 years and the fact I've never been charged back is because I've always dealt with only trusted people. If you use trusted exchangers like xmlgold or trade with reputed members of the forum, chances are very less than the cash will be chargedback. It's not only bitcoins but trading for any digital good/product can be chargedback via PP and hence even ebay had stopped users from selling their ebooks/egift cards and they deleted my listing when I wanted to sell my ebook for PP. Localbitcoins also is a trusted site but you need to deal with trusted buyers and not newbies or people with less reputation.

We should only accept Paypal when dealing reputable people. There are too many scammers out there. It is too risky to accept reversible Paypal.
I only accept Paypal when I sell on Ebay as there is sell's protection there and Ebay acts as a kind of escrow.

Yeah, you really gotta watch out selling anything virtual with Paypal. The only times I have used it, were well respected members on the forum, or someone I knew. Way too risky otherwise.

You just need to be selective in Bitcoins for Paypal deal, I've seen several users here with successful feedback due to a successful transaction for Bitcoin for Paypal. No offense to the newbies but never trust those ranks for Paypal.

You are right, even I had many PayPal trades before and I never had a chargeback from anyone...
@OP, you just need to get a right partner in order for the trade to become successful, else you might get scammed again and again as online wallets are much risky way to redeem your coins...

True that. Deal with a trusted site and try avoiding newbies as much as you can. Your BTCs are safe as long as you trade in smaller amounts with a number of people rather than bulk dealing with an individual. Common sense can do wonders!

I don't think trading in smaller amounts is needed when you deal with a trustworthy user. If you know the user and he has a good reputation on the forum, you can deal an amount as big as 2-3 BTC as well. However, on exchange websites the amount should be small.

You have probably traded with a reputable trader that had no interest to do a chargeback on you. It's different when you have unknown people buying bitcoins for Paypal.

Even birds on the trees know until now that PayPal should be absolutely avoided. I would trust a Paypal transaction only if I know where the guy lives that I trade with and I know him personally. But in this situation, I wouldn't even need PayPal to do a trade!

The essential is to stay away from PayPal!

It's against their TOS so it has nothing to do with trusting people..
If they catch you kiss your account + money buy.
And this could also be delayed..
You do trades then later you wind up in trouble after the fact.

It's against their TOS ..i think i need to keep repeating that  ::)
