From a single satoshi to 0.15 BTC now. Two years passively managed, basically doing nothing but exchanging and gambling here and there

For those who invest actively in Bitcoin how long did it take on average to profit 1 BTC just by trading?

These kind of replies vary from time to time... In some people's case it varies from hour to hour :D replied with 0.1 - 0.5, right now, might be different tomorrow :)

Well that's true in my case as well, as i tend to rather trade than just to hold them dorment, anyways i'm at about 13 right now, but i'll try to make it
to 21 by the end of the year, if the price doesn't get bubbled too much ofcourse, because in that case i will trade again, everything in the hope of hoarding more.

i have only 0.03 bitcoins though im searching for ways to get more

A bit over 1BTC, not that much. Hope to get to 2 BTC soon.

i dont have too much bitcoins right now i own only 0.32 but its still better than nothing i also wait for a huge price increase

Holding on to about 1 BTC now, but usually try to spend a bit and purchase more.

I hold between 1-5 Bitcoins at the moment, which I definitely plan to increase. I don't have an amount in mind to when I am happy with it as I just buy with what I can afford.

100+ which I mostly earned back when BTC was around 10 USD doing much work around here (logo and other graphics, websites, bug testing, etc.). If only I knew then BTC will go 3 and 4 figures ...

Have 0.0088btc at the moment. Just lost some around 0.0205btc in investor's based section with bad sites that closed down.
Never again. Now need to save all the bitcoins I can get. Buy some to get myself over $5.

Most people here so bitcoin as secure that they actually don't mind telling how much they have.
Anyways, if someone says they have 10k bitcoins you will believe them more than someone who says they have 0.001btc?
It is naive to believe anyone who claims they have the former. If you really want to pursue them to prove it, ask them for their blockchain tx of their wallet  :D

That is not considered a proof around here. A proof of address and coin ownership is some text signed with Bitcoin Core wallet, using address that holds those coins. One can not fake that part.

Currently almost none, sold not so long ago :/, now i missed 230$ opportunity to get back in game.

I have around 0.33 BTC but I wish I could own 1 BTC someday. I've been trying to get there, but been scammed many times when I first started with Bitcoin. It would take me a long time to get 1 Bitcoin, but I might speed up the process by selling stuff or working as a freelancer.  :D

I doubt many people will tell you their exact number of bitcoins. This would be also unwise of their part since they would be more prone to hackers. For example, someone claiming that he has 200 BTCs will surely have more intention at him and what's he doing on forum than someone having only 0.5 BTCs.

it happened before. so i agree enter the poll but dont post the amount in comments. i done it before in a post ages back to see if my theory was true, and it was, many people suddenly wanted to PM me

You never ask ppl how much money they have, same as you never ask lady how old she is lol. I dont think any smart person who have lot of coins will post that at forums and be honest.

Of course it's true. There are people out there who are thinking ways to screw someone over day and night.

Whoever is naive enough to reveal his real number of bitcoins in possession and maybe even post a proof is naive enough to fall for some malware or business proposition via PM.

Just found 0.1 in an old wallet of mine. Should have a whole bitcoin on an old HDD but it corrupted and haven't bothered attempting to recover it yet.

Anyone who answers forum questions like this are creating evidence that will never disappear and is easily accessible by Court Order.

I new in world bitcoin, so i just have a little bitcoin, just 0.05 btc

the average bitcoin user probably won't have to deal with court orders,and the people that would probably wont answer in this thread.

None currently I went all in on Ether.

Haven't really gotten to it yet, they were RAID formatted so it's going to be a pain to actually attempt to recover any data. But as you mentioned it might be worth looking into soon.

the funny thing i see is everyone is truly devoted and passionate about bitcoin.
but most people do not earn a proper living (1btc/week) with bitcoin, even further is that alot of users have far less than half a weeks national minimum wage, saved in bitcoins.

i start to wonder what all these people with under $10 in bitcoin are actually doing to:
personally help bitcoin economy grow
personally help bitcoins usefulness
personally secure the network via being a node or mining

because these people with less than a weeks wage invested, must know.. when truly thinking about it that they must have atleast $300 of gold in their house, but are not really interested in the gold markets.. (gold can be found in tooth filings, computer components, jewellery, household objects).

i especially wonder why thy havnt put aside atleast $200 in bitcoin. for a rainy day.

after all $200 is the equivelent of just 10 fast food takaway meals for a small family.. pretty much wasting money by buying fast food whic ends up down the toilet..

so a question to people with under $200 in bitcoin,,, why so low investment?

for now i not have bitcoin because i already sold all my bitcoin in the cheap price before price can break 500$ and now i try to collect satoshi again :(

If you're already at the possibility of having bad days due to work, why would you put 200 bucks into a volatile currency? It's not a risk-free investment. Most people will not be willing to invest in BTC after seeing the price drops it's had over the time and how volatile it can be.

I doubt that over 21% on this forum, have above 100 Bitcoins. Of all the addresses out there less than 2% of the total amount of coins are situated in one address. The OP should have asked, how many people have x amount of hoarded coins. The daily total will differ, if it is used on a daily basis.

I have around 0.12 BTC to say exactly. I am little bit confused whether to sell them at this peak price or wait for some weeks to see what happens to price.

Polls here in this forum should never be trusted as there are plenty of people using their shill accounts to troll vote. The best is to just look at block explorers that offer a rich list option. More accurate than this won't be possible.

Just my personal opinion: i have between 0.5 and 1, and i'm not even considering to sell them... Sure, i could potentially lose $50-$100 if i don't sell, and the price drops again.... But it's only $50-$100...

What's the sense of these threads? I have seen them a several times now? Why OP wants to know how many coins someone is having? Smells fishy imo! >:(
I'm not interested in any case how much coins others here have. Instead everybody should himself try to accumulate as much as bitcoins as possible if he really believes in it.But on a legal way.Buy coins, earn coins.
Threads like this always have something shady to me.Something like a preparation to fraud coins by spamming pm box with stupid messages full of social engineering. I advise everyone to be careful! The more value a Bitcoin will have the more rats will come out of their holes!!!

people like to know how much wealth their neighbours have. it's in their nature. it's a matter of comparing and who has more coins. i think that's why these threads are popping up from time to time.

For now none, I am new and I like bitcoin how it works and the payment.

But I just don't like the mining part I don't understand it.

I agree, 100 BTC winning is ridiculous, unless all of the people voting are early adopter whales which I doubt they would even bother voting and saying they have 100 BTC. Most people don't even own 1, and experienced users may be inside the 1-10BTC range at best.

you can simply buy those on any exchange, i mean 0.07 is not so expensive in fiat, it's not even $30

That's good amount to hold, at a moment I am having 0.7 BTC in my digital wallet, and I am trying to earn more and more but I do sell it when the prices goes high and convert it to fiat to take care of my basic expenses and keep a part of it safe for the future but I really wish to have over 5 BTC in the coming months then I would be a satisfied person.

Hmm probably between 1 and 3 digits. Not much but still a safe and sane investment for the future. Sold a bit on the $400+ ranges and planning to use that amount to buy more.

0.05 BTC right now i have and i will get around 1 btc to 1.5 btc in every month from my business. I think it's low but it is huge for me as i am individual.

Never ever gamble your bitcoins away if you want to try to build your stash. It can lead to always being at 0 turning you away from bitcoin..

Anyways, I'm getting quite close to what I'm comfortable holding both in terms of risk and potential value.

Close to 0. I sold mine when the price went up to 500. It was obvious the price would drop once the pump stopped and price correction happened. WIl probably buy 2-3 at 250-300 range.

Golden rule of Bitcoin (and life): keep away from gambling.

It is definitely a golden rule for life to not gamble away even a single penny. Better use your coins to make nice purchases, or save it for the future.

You could always try to make your own gambling site or a faucet. That may be a fast way to earn Bitcoin in no time. Also, with combined earnings from signature campaign, you can reach 1 BTC easily  ::)

Yeah you should start your own casino. That seems to be the fastest and richest way to go. I think PrimeDice might have something like over 50,000 bitcoins.

Yeah, i totally agree with you that earn bitcoin by free way is hard. I just have 20K satoshi in my wallet and about 120K satoshi still in faucet. So I want stop from faucet and join in this bitcointalk
