Hey guys,

I would like to know how many bitcoin(other coins) addresses do you have and how are you managing them ? Currently, I'm having around 30 addresses (all coins combined) and I'm using a text file to manage them.

I really don't have much! There are only two!

Somewhere in the tens to a hundred. Switched to separate-address-per-txn not-so-long-ago.

Can you restart this thread as a poll so we can all easily see what the summary count is for people that have 1 wallet vs. 5 vs. 10?

It' makes it much easier to see the results and then we can discuss the results with comments.

You should have one address for each transaction because doing otherwise is privacy and security breach.

I understand why it's recommended to have different address for each transaction, but to honest, it's not that practical. How are you dealing with that ?

I have somewhere around 20-ish. I have been using 1 address per transaction, but I don't make that many outgoing transactions. My wallet keeps track of all of my addresses. That's what they are for, aren't they?

Absolutely true! Actually, my bitcoin wallet changes my address each time I receive payment. I'm not talking here about the addresses you have in your wallet, but the different kind of addresses you have for the exchanges you are using, the other coins, ...

I have around 10 all on blockchain.info too many transactions on one address make blockchain lag, when this happens i just empty the address into a new one and archive the old address

2 offline wallet. 5 exchange wallet  ;D and 2 online wallet. thats enough for me

How do you know who is sending you coins if you dont have a different address for everyone? I wouldnt know how to make bookkeeping practical with a single address. Sounds very complicated to tell things apart.

Just put a label for each of the addresses for the purpose. According to core I used >80 addresses (excluding change adresses) and probably 20-30 more on mobile.

i have less than 5 address bitcoin and that's all only from online wallet because i never store my bitcoin at offline wallet

I create a separate address for every new service or website I use. I already have way over 50 addresses created for things I experiment with. There are simply too many tracking websites out there and people chasing after your money. I see no advantage of using only one or two addresses. Keep everything separated and protect your privacy.

I use 2 online wallets. I use one for my day to day life and then I use one for storing my Bitcoin. I am trying to find a good software wallets, if you know any, please tell me.

Using only 1 address. Why we need more than one address ! One is enough :)

I let my wallet ( I use the one which is included in Bitcoin Core client ) deal with that.

Hundreds... I have a couple HD wallets, and 1 bitcoin core, usually 1 transaction per address and a couple addresses pregenerated.
Also, a couple vanity addresses imported into blockchain (but completely empty, since i don't trust online wallets)

Why people are chasing our money? I un derstand some serious transactions or transactions between companies.. Why would anyone want to control my payment for such stupid things like domain or host..?

People probably aren't. It's just paranoia. Many of the people who use Bitcoin dislike centralization and governments. It is just who we are. With that comes paranoia and the wish to keep our payments anonymous.

I hear that people are collecting addresses but i can not understand for what..  ::) Probably this paranoia is working in both sites. :)

i have more than six bitcoin address

i got bitcoin addresses from coinbase and xapo wallet. xapo gets immediate payment from faucets and coinbase i use for betting in sportsbook

i have only 4-5 bitcoin address which are always in use and i don't make many becoz it is very difficult to manage.

Around 15 addresses, didn't use some of them though.

Maybe I will use them some day. But for now i only use 4 addresses. Which seems very less right.

I have between 5-10 addresses. It is many comfortable, because I can use some address for a thing, another address for one thing. For example actually I use an address for the gambling, another for buying goods, etc.

i have to admit i don't have a bitcoin address because i can't find a job so i can be paid in bitcoins, and i do not want to invest my hard earn money to buy bitcoin, maybe it the future when i will have a steady job and a nice pay check every month i will consider investing in bitcoins :)

It looks like you're the only poster here who doesn't have a bitcoin address. Did you know that its quite easy to earn some bitcoin without investing? Search around the forum and you'll find an answer.  ;)

Generated hundreds or even thousands of address in multibit :D did not actually use more than 15 or 20 addresses.

I have over 20 addresses but only use 2-4 of them.

2 Addresses in an online wallet

I have 4 btc address,, coinsph,, xapo,, coinbase and blockchain, how about you?

I have 10 on my pc as of now excluding online wallet addresses.

I have one BTC address for each site I sign up with.  If it is a new faucet, it will be a new BTC address.  I also have different addresses for different computers in my house.  I guess now that I think about it, it is a little overkill, but I am able to tell where all my BTC comes from and where it goes to.

I use coinbase for a number of things and for some reason, every now and then I go into my account and there is another address there for me.  I assign addresses for the different tasks I do, this way I know where my BTC is coming from.

I have 3 btc addresses not more than that because more than this is difficult to remember

I now have somewhere in the 100 range of BTC addresses.  I create a new one every time I get onto a new site or make a new loan to someone.  I try not to reuse them so I can keep track of everything I have done.

I use a blockchain.info account which has 3 addresses in it and also a coinbase account which has no single address that contains all the funds.

I am using around four of them.

Just one address, was the one I got when registered on blockchain.info and never really needed to generate another one, like the fact I can do it easily though and wouldn't like a one address per person rule if it come.
