Title: tmac667 needs a scammer tag!
Post by: Joshwaa on November 14, 2012, 12:21:44 PM
Seems me and a couple others fell for it. tmac667 sold me and a couple others some fake Netflix codes. He got me for 3BTC. Not sure what he got the other people for. I have sent several PM's and no reply, and he also closed the thread he used to sell the codes. I am not sure if this was intentional or not but once he got the BTC he stopped the PM's and posting. If you have had positive dealings with him let me know.

I posted in that thread and forecasted this... Tmac told me to stop threadcrapping

I have had some positive dealings with him, re: papa johns large pizzas. All were good until the last one, when he didnt send the code until 20 hours later because he was doing his Netflix thing.

I bought nfl shop gift cards from him too, those were delivered later than expected but the transaction was generally fine.

I will happily take either a refund, or a working code.

Here is a special address just for a refund, so everyone can see if it's been done: 1GVwDyTVH2yTRrg7g1B1s7xjykegGSY3Ci

tmac667 is also a member of thebotnet.com.  He's probably selling carded codes.

Still no word from him. BTC has not been returned, nor a good code delivered.

If you did business with him via forum PMs: Can I look at the PMs between you and him?

Hey im sorry for the mix-up with the netflix code, after looking into it, it turns out that netflix invalidated all of these gift codes that had yet to be redeemed. So i dont feel necessarily responsible for this as netflix invalidated these codes literally hours before i got my last stock in. However i work hard to retain a good rep on this forum so i am offering you a choice of eithier a 50% refund or a netflix account(i will give you the email and pass) that i will gurantee to work for atleast 6 months. The account will be cracked however it is not a public account(you will be the only other person using the account) so the possibility of getting locked out of the account is minimal as long as you dont change the password(i promise i will not sell the account to anyone else). please reply to the this pm asap and i will fulfill your wish as fast as i can. I will also give you a discount on any future selling threads that i have(such as nfl gc's and ppj codes).

Thanks,

TMAC

I'll take a full refund. It's bullshit that you'd even consider that selling invalid codes wasn't on you.

Full refund or working code. Your call.

I got the same pm. I responded telling him I wanted a full refund. He said said that wasn't an option. So basically he is outright stealing and doesn't care.

Ok I just saw this thread for the first time and I'm pretty surprised at people's reactions, I explained to the 3 people that this applies to the sutuation and offered a compromise. I've done many transactions on this forum before and these are the only 3 'bad' ones. What do you mean you and a couple others fell for it, you think I planned on Netflix invalidating the remaining codes that they sent out? It's not just my codes that aren't working its any codes, so I wouldn't recommend buying from the other guy that's selling them unless his are from a different promotion. I haven't received compensation for the bad codes from my source and although I requested a refund he refused to grant me 1 so the 50% refund I offered you guys is out of pocket. And holy shit I don't send him a 100 pms demanding money, for gods sake it wasn't a $1000 that I lost, I understand that's the price of doing business sometimes.

Who cares if you have or haven't received compensation? Nobody cares about the business between you and your source. If you sold bad codes, which you have admitted, you either refund 100% or get a scammer tag. Simple as that.

How are you surprised by my reaction. You sent me a code I PM'ed you right back saying they were no good and you didn't reply for over 16hrs. You admitted that the codes were invalidated before you sent them when you did reply. Then you offer 50% refund(which is not a refund it is a settlement) or a hacked account.

At the time I sent coin diver the code Netflix was still accepting them, I offered him 50% compensation as a good gesture. Although he's been pretty vocal I don't owe him shit.

... If he paid for a 1 year Netflix subscription, you owe him either a 1 year Netflix subscription or his payment back in full.

Your agreement was that he will send you BTC, and you will give him a code.

It DOESN'T MATTER that this source of yours messed up.  WE DON'T CARE.  If you don't want to be responsible, put a disclaimer saying that.

I can't believe he thinks 50% refund is acceptable.

Let's try this example out:  I order a new TV from Walmart.com for $1,200.  I get an email that says, "We regret to inform you that our supplier has not delivered the television to us in accordance with our contract terms, and we therefore will not be sending it to you.  Please accept a refund of $600.  Thanks for choosing Walmart.com!"

Good luck with that.

Most scumbags never do.  He's probably found some kind of way to rationalize to himself what he's doing to you guys is ok.

You guys should have read this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=119896.0 specifically line item #7.

Granted, I posted that in Lending which a lot of people don't read.  But since I began that thread, scamming has come to a screeching halt, whereas before there would be 2 or 3 per day.

He is also a member here: http://thebotnet.com/members/tmac667.html anyone with a login can go through his posts... or at least warn everyone there that he is a known scammer.

Here as well: http://www.talkptc.com

Seems to be a liberal (supports Obama), and lives within a short drive of Toronto.

Can someone explain what thebotnet.com is? Is it literally about setting up botnets to scam/mine?

Also, how is he obtaining these pizza codes and netflix codes? Any clues?

I got a random 1 BTC send to the address in my signature... I found the thread that explained it just after I posted something here. I had initially assumed it was someone covering for tmac, but not wanting him to get credit for it (hence, not posting it to my "official" refund address...). I was wrong.
