I love this idea and will follow closely. I'm a big advocate for NXT - in reality projects just like NXT are showing us what can actually be created with blockchain technology. Generally stable (and most often profitable) assets that can pay dividends to asset holders every week.

Volatility is less of a factor and feels more like investing in actually projects and businesses that have already proven to have a profitable business approach.

New releases have seen some cool additions to the wallet - asset AND currency exchange, a free market where you can buy or sell anything plus assets that pay you NXT just for holding them in your wallet (unlike other POS that require you to have your wallet running) - dividend payouts can be quite lucrative.

If you're not a part of NXT, you should be! Like most altcoins, the NXT price is hurting right now but steady development and innovative advancements will attract big investors over time. Sure, it's not perfect but they're doing a lot of things right too. Get involved, you won't regret it!

The community is starting a big push so that this platform succeeds - get involved by starting your own crowdfunding campaign :)

2. How did you create your account?

Remember, passphrase is your account. Always double check that your pasphrase opens the same account. Small mistake in passphrase (lowercase, missed character, etc.) will open new account. That's how brain wallet works.

I noticed that there were a few 'newbie' accounts in there and I have skipped them for now as stated in the OP. If you are a 'newbie' then please stay around on Bitcointalk and be active and enter in the next round. This is nothing against 'newbie' accounts per say, it's just that it's a fair bit easier to take advantage and claim several times. That's why, and then hopefully the distribution will be fairer which will benefit everyone in the long run.

I used MyNXT and after clicking around in there I am pretty sure that whatever arrived is inaccessible. It has registered an incoming transaction, but that is as far as you get.

The address I use is from https://wallet.mynxt.info. It is the transfer, but not the amount of coins received, so does not work.

Your address still holds the coins you received you just have to open it with the nxt client or maybe mynxtportal

All you can use Supernet lite client, it is based on the latest NXT NRS 1.6.2. With it, there is no need to download complete blockchain, lite client connects to random nodes. Full NXT is under advanced section in lite client. Hope it helps, ask here if you'll have some questions.

Yes, update to 1.6.2. After update, there will be rescan of database, which is not short. To speed up the update, go to www.peerexplorer.com and download latest snapshot of database (right bottom of the page). Copy database to database folder nxt_db and then run 1.6.2.

I have an idea for further distribution via a monthly "raffle" and adding of new "members". I would like to distribute MOJO through a random draw once a month from everyone who has registered so far. I have made a tab in the distribution spreadsheet. 10 'prizes' every month like this:

1 - 100,000
2 - 90,000
3 - 80,000
4 - 70,000
5 - 60,000
6 - 50,000
7 - 40,000
8 - 30,000
9 - 20,000
10 - 10,000

... and then accept 100 new "members" per month adding to the list. All new members of MOJO will get 5000 MOJO each as a start and then they have a chance to win coins in the next raffle. This also means that the earliest registrations have a greater chance to win initially. The 10 winners from each month will not be entered into the next draw (or two) thereby increasing everyone else's chance of winning.

The random draw will be done transparently and fairly using https://www.randompicker.com where I will set up a "project" and publish the draw. This site will generate a random draw from all registrations and this will either be on the website or here. I am trying to figure it out.

We will follow this model for 12 months and see where we are. This should ideally distribute coins to more than 1000 users if it goes to plan.

If you are using an online wallet like secureae or mynxt you won't be able to access your funds

Here is procedure:

1. Check you have java 8 installed, if not, update to 8.
2. download NXT installer from https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/downloads/nxt-client-1.6.2.exe
3. install it and choose installation directory of your own.
4. to use latest blockchain database (not to download it from scratch) download it from www.peerexplorer.com (right bottom part of site).
5. unzip it to C:\users\XXXXXXXXX\Appdata\Roaming\NXT\. Database file should be in nxt_db directory.
6. Start "NXT server" from your desktop and wait until it is loaded (blue icon will appear in the status bar, you can check status here)
7. if server loaded, open "Nxt wallet" from your desktop. It will open new tab in your browser with login screen.
8. In login screen you can choose login with your account ID or with your passphrase (click blue man in the login field, it will change login option by account or by passphrase)
9. That's all, your wallet will all NXT features will be opened.

Ask any questions, if this procedure will not work, but it should. :)

Can I just make it clear that we are giving away and distributing MOJOCOIN and we are not giving away NXT.

Mojocoin is a cryptocurrency with it's blockchain running "on top of" the Nxt blockchain.

Just curious about how you want to secure that the coin's price will not decline after the official start as the most NXT MS coins did :/

The coin has no value at this point in time so it can only increase in value, so to speak. Nobody is selling and nobody is buying. I want to distribute a lot more coins and put a few things in place before I will approach any outside exchanges. I haven't put a value on this and I am not putting any for sale, it will distributed over some time.

You are absolutely right that the coin does not have any value as at now, are you saying you will still give us more coin apart from the 5000 distributed?

Yes, exactly, once we have the 210 "members" in November we will open up for 100 new "members" every month until further notice and once a month there will be a "raffle" where we will enter all the previous "members" up until that point in the draw. So, the distribution will be by 100 * 5000 MOJO every month (if we get 100 per month) and then the coins through the raffle. The early adopters will have a greater chance of getting coins but everyone that enters will have a chance to get a good chunk of coins also.

With regards to value, well, the coin itself runs on Nxt and so it can be considered to be "fully developed" in a sense and there will only ever be 100,000,000 MOJO in existence.

Once the coins has been sufficiently distributed we will seek to develop utility for the coins in the same way as any other crypto coin and then maybe MOJO will have value.

I agree, I do believe that ultimately MOJO will have a value in BTC or Nxt but how much I think will depend on a range of factors and one of the advantages of running it on top of Nxt is that there are no issues around nodes and such and the network is stable and secure from the outset. What we are exploring is the possibility of giving MOJO it's own identity independent of Nxt. With this way of creating a coin we are free from some limitations you have when running a "normal" crypto where there is a need / expectations for continues development and the promise of new features to drive the value and where you are dependent on miners of people staking.

This is running as an experiment with regards to distribution and also with regards to where it will end up. Therefore, no promises of any fancy features or promises of anything at all really. The only thing that is certain is that MOJO will be available and running for as long as Nxt is running. If we are able to find a way to "break away" from Nxt dependance we will explore that but for the time being we are happy to exist with Nxt in order to complete the distribution and contemplate various ideas.

I had a look at this as well and it seems you have to install the NXT Monetary plugin to use and see your Nxt MS coins...

I dont think you need to install anything for https://wallet.mynxt.info from my own experience.
Click the advance and you will see currencies and look for Mojo among the listed coins.

I think that if you read the OP and the messages we say that we will distribute a few MOJO before anything else happens. This will be done by opening up for 100 new "members" each month from the 10th and then a raffle around the first week of every month. I would say that after around 6 months we will start to prepare further actions around the coin. In respect of that, anyone is free to suggest anything. This project is experimental and open ended so if you want to conduct activities etc. to try and get some value for your coins then do that.

I am trying to understand the Nxt system and exploring ideas for what we may do with this project. It is voluntary to take part and you can just sit back and receive some coins or you can try to do something that you think might be useful.

As I have stated before with this project. We make no promises and we do not have a road map as such. We will keep distributing and try to find ways to widen our reach.

Creating an own wallet with the Nxt framework as a backend is not acutally a big deal. So, the project should use its development funds to find someone who is able to create such a wallet for Mojo.

It seems to be a very interesting project and I like the monthly distribution.

Yes, we will exchange all the MOJO for "new" MOJO of course and keep a free distribution pathway. This is part of the experiment. We just need to free ourselves from the Nxt blockchain and this appears to be the best way and then we'll work from there. I will go through and pay out everyone that has signed up so far and do the next raffle as promised. Then we will look for a way to distribute free MOJO on a monthly basis. We are looking at ways of doing this to make it difficult to cheat and make sure everyone only gets paid once (except the raffles which we will keep up). We are welcoming any ideas for a fair and scam free way of distributing coins outside of this forum as well.

We just don't think that we will able to do what we want running on top of the Nxt blockchain so we go back to PoS coin to experiment with. Changing from Nxt to a PoS coin is not planned or part of anything, it just opens up other possibilities again.

Ok, no problem - other than I'd been looking forward to what you could do with an MS-coin  :)
