Well, Bitcoin is currently booming in popularity in Indonesia especially after the bomb incident, no surprise to see it getting to top 10 :P
The problem is, there's a big population of BTC users in Indonesia still getting the Bitcoin from Faucets which is a waste of time
I tried to tell them they can get better BTC on Sig campaigns but they seem don't care about it at all :(

Also recently , There are some incident like these one :  Indonesian bomber try asking for ransom and want to get paid for bitcoin. Really cool that Indonesia is starting to embrace bitcoin. Economic instability is a good motitvator to get in. But can also make it hard to enter as you don't have cash to spare and buy bitcoin with.

From which source have you learned this stuff? If it is illegal then why would there be an exchange having thousands of bitcoins being traded openly? ::) Russia is one country I know that prohibits any bitcoin-related activity.

That's a great news. Not very unexpected though, considering the fact that population of Indonesia is over 255 million now.

I think the future of Bitcoin in Indonesia is bright because nowadays Indonesia's governmental structure is based on economic and political co-operation with Western nations.

Indonesia's law is pretty neutral regarding bitcoin
Meaning they will let people do a transactions with bitcoin
But
If you somehow got scammed with Bitcoins you can't ask for the help from the law

I believe it is not illegal to own bitcoin in Indonesia. Last year, Bank of Indonesia states that "bitcoin and other virtual currency are not currency or legal payment instrument in Indonesia". Things could have changed now in 2015, the legality of bitcoin in Indonesia is still unclear.

let me explain little fact,i know this from any news about bitcoin in indonesia.yes thats right that bitcoin illegal in indonesia,but there was many bitcoin traded there,it because bitcoin have a good community they also have CEO of bitcoin indonesia,bitcoin illegal but not prohibit to be traded,they able to have bitcoin,but they cant use bitcoin for payment,indonesia govenor just legalize payment with local currency (IDR). that whyso many bitcoin traded in indonesia.

i'm glad to see my country includes the top 10 biggest market of bitcoin in the world

and i'm really hope the volume still increase again every day

Not only bitcoin and other virtual payment,but dollar or other curency is illegal in Indonesia, you can't buy anything on store with dollar directly or you will get the punishment, but you can keep using bitcoin as comidity which is like gold,silver etc and you able to trade them.

Taking advantage of price arbitrage hurts the exchanges, the companies making bitcoin liquid for us and new users. Don't screw our own ppl for your personal gain!

Because there are a lot of many computer users in Indonesia, which like to spend a lot of time in the Web  ;D And probably they like Bitcoins too  ;D

in our country using bitcoin is not illegal but also not protected by law it mean if some one got hacked and lost all his bitcoin

Yeah, I guess that more people are getting into the Bitcoin business. But it's not that much compared to the rest of the Bitcoin players. So I wouldn't really say that Indonesia is and asian power.

I just wonder how easy it is to access internet in Indonesia? My guess is that it is relatively easy in the cities but not at rural areas... So basically bitcoin activities are still very limited in the cities not the entire country. It is actually not benefiting the poor...

I was very surprised by this, and I also heard that in Bali there is a place that can pay with bitcoin . and I believe in this bitcoin Indonesia will continue to grow by leaps and bounds.

At present there aren't much stores in my country that accept bitcoins. I always convert bit coins into local currency to be able to use them. I wish that the trend of using bit coins for payments spread here also just like it did in Indonesia. Hope that happens soon.

Good point, they are probably making more money with it than working since their wages are just subhuman and they get exploited in those countries, so im happy for them if they are making bank, even if for people like me is just a tiny extra at the end of the month, for them it must mean a lot and they will always remember Bitcoin positively.

in indonesia illegal activitys are high and even government support them, so it is not a big thing that indonesians are high in Bitcoin Industry because for illegal payments bitcoins is very best. But this will give bad effect for Bitcoin industry.

Honestly I think that it's awesome. I don't think bitcoin will take off in america. To me the place it will become mainstream is somewhere like indonesia. Time will tell though and can't wait to see the full extent of what bitcoin can do across the world.

I agree that it has a bigger opportunity in the countries where many people are poor, but once it takes of there, and more is developed, it will surely catch on in the richer parts of the world.

IMO fiat-btc exchange is popular in your country cause out-source job is popular in your country, so people work and earn bitcoin, and sell them into fiat.

The average rank in Asia is the most populous country.

Yes developing and 3rd world countries will be the places where Bitcoin will really take off first.
The developed countries however are the ones who mostly build the infrastructure (exchanges, wallets, merchants, markets, most fo the startups).
Latin and South America, South east Asia, parts of Eastern Europe are the places where Bitcoin will be adopted in a bigger scale first imo in terms of daily usage.
Regarding the financial, speculative aspect of Bitcoin it will be USA, China,UK, the developed countries in general to adopt Bitcoin first.
