Hello, this is my brother account on bitcointalk and I wanted to ask something. I've made an account two years ago, late november and used it untill I got to Senior member a year later and decided to take a break due to college... Well now after a year of break I've deided to come back into btc talk and to my surprise I couldn't login so I've tried al of my possible password combinations... Nothing special since it was long ago and I've probably forgot my password and went on to recover it.... and to my surprise, after trying 5 of my e-mails none seem to match my account. I've sent messaged to one of the mods here a few moments ago and went on to check if I'm spelling my username correctly, "mezmerizer9"... and to my unpleasant surprise the last login was two days ago... what?  :o ??? I've not been using it since last year and I don't remember giving it to anybody. What can I do to recover it? Can someone from admins pm me on this account? I can provide answers to all questions about the account. Thank you.

You will understand that we cant just take your word for it that the account is yours. Signing a message shows that you at least controlled the account in the past. The address used should be old, because the last time you use the account was over a year ago.

AFAIK cex.io does not allow you to sign messages. Did you ever use a programm as wellet and posted an address that is controlled by that wallet?

the only wallet I've used is blockchains, never used a wallet software.

Blockchain allows you to export your private keys.

They also allow to sign a message, so there is no need to export and risk a private key.

If you want to keep your email secret, create two signed messages. One for us so we can tag the account as compromised and one for admins with your mail address which you can send them via PM.

Because I was using that address when I was on cex.io when cloud mining. I can give you info to login into my cex.io account and you can see for yourself. I'm not sing it anymore and it doesn;t have any funds on it.

Does it still have the same deposit address as before? Shorena(he's trusted) might be able to verify the info and flag the account as hacked but that stil might not be sufficient proof for the admins.

Verified, left my rating on the account. As mexxer-2 said we cant tell whether or not it will be enough for admins.

I can provide as much as needed. Also admins can message me for the first address you've provided, I can give them the info to login onto my cex.io account and see the address there.

BTW when exactly was your account hacked?

Anyway, I guess signed message from an address posted in a unedited post , posted over an year before is what the admins want. Send them an email/PM , link either the post I showed or the archive link(to verify the unedited claim, in case the hacker edits it). You should get back your account in 1-2 weeks , best case scenario, admins are busy.

So I didn't require him to sign a message to prove the ownership! As I know the associated address is belonged to the owner! So senting the money to the address means sending the money to the true owner! If Am I wrong, please correct to me!
