Title: Total Network hashing approaching 5 Thash/s! Post by: AngelusWebDesign on June 06, 2011, 03:27:55 AM I thought it was in the 4.X range -- now I look and it's 4.95 -- and TWELVE blocks/hour all the sudden, when for the longest time it's been in the 8 - 9.5 range.

Did some supercomputer come online to mine Bitcoins? This is hardly surprising. A few days ago $/BTC was 9, then 10 then 12 then 14, 16 and right now it is 18. Post by: Rodyland on June 06, 2011, 04:24:04 AM I have to say, if I had a supercomputing cluster ready to mine bitcoins, I wouldn't bring it online in the day or two before a difficulty readjustment. I'd bring it online in the hours _after_ said adjustment. And then probably take it offline as soon as the difficulty readjusted to my cluster.
Of course, that'd probably kill bitcoin, but only eventually. |
