I would assume that the one giving me the discount probably has a stockpile of coins, or has a plan to be able to get rich quick. I mean come on, that's what a lot of these coins are about, and it's sad.

But I could also see this as a kind of branding thing where, say, if somebody sold science hobby kits for children, they could offer 15% off for people who want to pay with Orbitcoin. It doesn't matter if they dump the Orbitcoin right away, whatever, they're just tying in with Orbitcoin and its stated purpose of supporting science for a cute little promo. The altcoin will most likely be illiquid when this happens. It is very easy to transfer an altcoin to any exchange, why would someone sell to you rather to any exchange at the market price? The answer will be low liquidity for the coin.
