Black Friday is an important day in the world of commerce, like this one of the few days of the year where tons of purchases are being made all over the world. The reason for its success is quite simple: retailers enable discounts on their products and services, incentivizing consumers to spend money left, right, and center. But is Black Friday all it claims to be or are consumers becoming less spending-happy?

Black Friday should be outlawed in my opinion. You get 1000's of people spending money they do not have on stuff they do not really want or need. {They buy on credit and they

buy because it's cheap} It's like all these other silly events like Valentine's Day and Halloween... Xmas.. People are just pulled into a debt trap, driven by emotions.

If they outlaw it for say 10 years, most people would recover enough from this debt cycle, to start paying for things in cash or Bitcoin. It's a vicious cycle!  >:(

Perhaps, but steering people towards a system where debt isn't baked into the recipe is still worthwhile.  One step at a time.  We can't expect to cure all the world's problems at once and indoctrinated consumerist tendencies won't disappear overnight.

This year a few retailers in UK do not participate the Black Friday Sales. Citing the shopping fatigue. Black Friday Sales encourage customers to buy things they do not need using the borrowed money. That is the waste of resources. These money can be put into much better use. These kind of sales exploit the human weakness.

People are the one's who do purchase goods with money they don't have. You can't really blame any one beside the people themself for that. If they have a weakness for using money they don't have, then they should seek for help.

The only thing I blame these shitty companies for is that the debit card companies don't care about people. They just see money. These companies needs to cut down and block everything untill the people paid back the last cent, and not continue to let people make even bigger depts.

How would you outlaw Black Friday exactly? Make it illegal for retailers to have sales or be open on that one day? You really want a law allowing government and lawmakers to decide how and when consumers can spend their hard earned monies? I know Mercuh can be a Nanny state in many respects, but outlawing Black Friday just so some people don't go into debt? I don't see that happening. If anything, Black Friday is turning/devolving into Black Thursday and Friday. Someday soon it will be Black Friday Week, just like Valentines Day --> Valentines weekend --> Valentines Week, or Birthdays --> Birthday Weeks.

There are too few retailers accepting bitcoin. Most people do not know bitcoin and retailers are not prepared for that. Maybe in a few years, when bitcoin becomes more popular, it will have some impact. Just not now. So please be patient.

Hardly, nobody likes to spend bitcoins. Bitcoin is a hoardable currency, hardly anybody spends it in mass.

Even if I would have 1000 BTC, i would hardly spend it, I rather give my worthless fiat instead of my precious coins
