Is making a BTC sweater a good idea?

My friend just sent me this adorable cuddily Bitcoin sweater. I don't really get emotional about most fashion items, but she said love was hand sewn into every single stitch. Especially the part with my username stitched onto one of the cuffs to the sweater. This is really cute. What do you guys think?

She gave this to me for free. I'm gonna wear it every winter day. She is also selling it to one other user here. After that, she is not making anymore for sale. Instead, she will be making hats and scarfs with that same embroidery design. She stitches words of your choice in orange on any part of your hand knitted item. She wants to sell a hat and scarf together for $60 dollars, and free shipping on Etsy! I refuse to link to her Etsy page because of off-site trading concerns, so sorry if you wanted to buy one to keep somebody warm this upcoming winter. Until she is actually available on this site, there's really nothing I can do. (Unless I purchase the items off of her, which I don't know will happen).

Looks really cute indeed. Get some good looking instagram model to wear it and you'll get thousands of views quick. I think it would fit really good on a cute girl, this is definitely not for guys tbh lol. Also she should accept BTC only when she sells it.

This is great, it certainly does have a cosy effect and it looks nice too even though its simple yet awesome... It was well made plus good choice of color with going light cream or white (not sure which one is) instead of traditional dark colors used for hand made sweaters... Now I'm jealous hehe, lucky you and to the guy whose going to buy it since its the only handmade bitcoin sweater to date if i'm correct :)

Actually, she is already an Instagram model! She only has over 5k of followers though. She would need at least 100k. Or a million to really sell it and make a nice living this winter selling cute cuddily scarfs and hats to promote Bitcoin.


And sure, it's for guys too! I would totally wear it! I'm wearing it right now even though it's 86 degrees! I will be in the states where it's cold though, so it doesn't matter!

You know how sceptical I am but why a photo at that angle ? I see the arms don't look properly attached and the Bitcoin symbol is just glued on ?

I'm so glad that you're into it! The hats and scarfs will keep tons of families warm this winter season! She is also hoping to do a little bitcoins giveaway to have everyone in the Christmas spirit and spread the joy of giving! After all, what better way is there, than to have a free full Bitcoin in your wallet?

It's nice, and I think it would be even nicer if there is more orange color on the sweater (ex:change the color of the collar to orange).

I feel the same way about the Bitcoin symbol being glued on. The Bitcoin Logo don't seem to be the part of the sweater but looks like it was patched on to a normal sweater. I think anyone looking to buy it should ask for more images and ask for the escrow if they decide to buy it.

Wow that is one nice sweater. It takes effort in making one but putting something that suits your interest is another plus+++ . You have a nice friend in there. I hope there could be another color. I want one but I'm sure it'll cost me much because of my location. :D

Though it's a bit awkward we're using Bitcoin as a brand
instead of making a mascot for Bitcoin for others to notice (just a little thing I noticed for all Bitcoin-wear in general)

Looks very nice, but I would prefer the symbol being places on the left breast, where the pocket usually are. The centered symbol in the middle looks a bit awkward to me. The symbol should also be a bit smaller, if it is located on the left breast.

But that is just me. ^hmf^ 

Not quite sure what sort of feedback your interested in but I'll leave a few notes since you asked

The handmade aspect shows originality and tradition, it looks warm that's for sure and comfy made with some love.
Design wise it is simple with a nice Bitcoin symbol on the center, perhaps sewing a pocket to it would make it convenient for  user who has a mobile phone to carry stuff around although the sweater does seem like it would be a fairly comfy pair of pajamas although it might be a bit hot so that is just an opinion.

Definitely a suggestion taken into consideration!

When I say clothing, I don't mean $6 t-shirts or something, because anyone can make that in 10 minutes. Not too many people are willing to spend 20+ hours sitting on a rocking chair hand knitting a cheesy sweater, then hand weave the Bitcoin Symbol onto it. (No offense to my friend is she's reading this, but I can easily tell she got a little lazy towards the end of the sweater. The knitting looked very loose at the end), that's okay though. If I can't do better, I have no room to insult her lol.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It'd give a more "professional" look than a "cozy mascot" look.

Yeah! She could knit hats and scarves in black if you wanted. As I said though, she isn't available here to sell anything, so you'll just have to wait. Also, there has to be a lot of people wanting it in black. If no one really does, she won't make it for one person.

I agree with the pocket idea! It doesn't hurt to have some fashion item be a little bit useful! Other than that, it keeps a loved one warm in the cold, and that's useful enough for me! She knew I was coming back to the states, so she made this for me as a surprise.

The sweater is definitely cute and the hat and scarf idea is great, but... I would recommend making Hooded scarves, where you attach the hat on the scarf

Those are hard to knit, but let me tell you how fast they sell. They are extremely popular to both men and women ages 13-25 which is the demographic here. Because both the hat and scarf are knitted together, teens and young adults don't have to worry about losing either one.

Another idea you might want to keep in mind is switching up the colors. Don't make it fully cream colored. Put some other designs on the hooded scarf besides the logo. Since I presume she's already knitted some hats and scarves, let her sell them away and make the next batch hooded scarves. Trust me. She will be a millionaire.

I was reminded of that Big Bang Theory's Episode where Leonard is forced to wear, no Tshirt no nothing beneath, that itchy orange sweater some grandma or aunt had given him.

This sweater might be extra comfy but I naturally run away from warming, thick things... it's always the double-layer thin clothing which makes me warm if needed. The hat thing could be my thing, though.

Reflection.... just as in such episode Sheldon makes a point to show that he feels just as alienated as Leonard with the sweater on when he's forced to renounce to his odd closure rituals and integrity code... that's how we bitcoiners feel when wealth goes out from the Bitcoin world.
