Title: Introducing a chatbox to BTCTalk Post by: tommorisonwebdesign on November 20, 2015, 01:53:30 PM I just had an idea - a few years ago I was a developer on another forum and subscribers were able to chat. Chat Mod (http://blog.chatwee.com/2014/10/chat-mod-simple-machines-forum-smf-software/) for SMF makes very easy to implement and it could be configured so only Full Member rankings and above can use it. There are times where I find myself wanting to chat with people here and all we really have are threaded discussions. Thoughts?

It is way too big to introduce a chatbox.

We don't need a chatbox as it will simply dissolve into a lot of shouting and arguing and turn into a trollbox while we have to recruit even more moderators to try to clean up the mess that will be left over. It just isn't compatible with a forum that is supposed to provide one of the main sources of discourse in the Bitcoin community.
