Title: Looking for Tips to Start a Faucet
Post by: defaultking on November 25, 2015, 06:45:19 PM
As the title indicates I'm looking for any tips on starting a faucet. I pretty much have the faucet already set-up, but am looking for things like who do faucet owners use for advertising income? How much bitcoin do I need before starting up the faucet? If I'm planning on using advertising funds to keep the faucet going how do I start generating those funds before starting the faucet?  ???

It's a relatively common question that has been asked here. You can view answers but searching other threads.

As for mine which is always the same, I doubt faucets are good overall these days for the community. There isn't much demand for them and aren't worth the trouble to an informed user.

There is no trick... pay more then the others = more traffic.  But you have to keep under what ad's pay.... so your talking about very very low payments.

It honestly is not worth doing at this point.  There are so many faucets and faucet rotaters already... and most people have seen that it's not a good way to spend time.

I think there is an opportunity for better faucets to exist, since so many have become copies of the same spam ad heavy interface and huge payment promises with low payment reality.

Faucets have a bad reputation, but they do serve a good purpose in the bitcoin economy. Why not build one that doesn't replicate everything people hate about faucets?

Have a more interesting user interface. Have payment and collection structures that make sense. Follow through on big payouts and share the face that a real person has collected those big payments! Fight the bots that exploit the system.

I can't offer details on coding and whatnot but hopefully my thoughts here have been constructive for your approach. Let us know when you have it set up so we can beta test for you!
