Title: Question Everything?
Post by: dank on November 18, 2012, 02:33:36 AM
You are taught to question everything life throws at you, to doubt everything you hear.  It's logical to do so.  At what point, though, do you stop questioning things and start convicting your own beliefs?  You believe something about every subject imaginable, you may not be aware of what your beliefs are, though.  Is there really a need to question anything?  Everything just is.  If you can live without doubt, you can live without fear and when there's nothing to fear, you're left with love.  Why not believe in yourself and your abilities to do things?

Whenever deja-vu gets a little overwhelming.

You know, Dank, I like you... but you might consider setting the pipe down for a few hours.

Yes, question everything. Including... especially, your beliefs.

How can we find the truth if we keep questioning it?

How can we find the truth if we keep questioning it?

The only way to find the truth is to keep questioning it to see if it stays true.

You can't just use logic to find truth?  I mean, that's what I did.

Part of logic is questioning your premises. If your premises are flawed, you'll end up at flawed "truths."

I don't see the flaw in the premise.

That may be your problem.

Logic also works better without THC. Nothing against the chemical itself, I happen to enjoy it. Just not too great for logic. Wild intuitive leaps, yes. Logic, not so much.

Logic is what makes us human right?  Logic is what makes people justify their actions.  Logic is what creates a society, as our own.  Logic is transcendence of fear.

It is ultimately illogical to use logic once you find the truth.  Once you find love, why wouldn't you prefer to act out of love over doubt and fear?

If you find the truth please share it, i'm curious.
Doubt is delicious because it opens your mind to the immense field of possibilities.

We all know the truth.  I've been saying it all along.  The truth is within you.  Meditate, find that conscious source of energy and explore.  Doubt is what makes you human.  Wouldn't you prefer to live a life without doubt or hesitation?  Find your soul and you have all you need.

No i don't know the truth...
I doubt about everything, i embrace the world of possibilities and i don't feel i need anything. (exception for a few btc you won't need because you have the unsharable truth: 16W6cCUZpiH3kzZExNdoE5Wwyjtw2viCQS). I invite you to do the same, it is very pleasant not to be limited to one possibility in your mind.
so again please sum-up the truth in one clear sentence.

I could bet that you never opened a single book to read and learn the perspective of different philosophical thinkers. You are just an useful idiot pretending you know the meaning of the words you are bubbling in this forum:

Consciousness created ego to perceive itself from a foreign perspective, to learn about itself.  Ego is learning about consciousness.  As we learn about the consciousness that created us, we discover ego is not necessary to live; fear and doubt and ultimately, logic, are not necessary, they were created by consciousness to learn of itself.

The truth is you are god.  You just have to believe it and you can do anything.  When all doubt is erased from earth.

Augusto, you're right, I've never read the bible or any religious text.  I was completely alienated from spirituality as a kid.  So, yes, I didn't have to rely on man's distorted perception of the world.  I found my own perception, the true existence of reality, my own soul.

The things I say are just the logical conclusions of what we think of as questions we'll never answer.  As humanity finds these answers, we will become one.  We're searching for some sort of answer, I mean, at what point does society stop building itself, just because?  At what point does society change from an environment of forced labor to a world of peace and freedom of choice?

You do not need drugs to connect to your consciousness, they have been used, by many, as such a reason, though.

Andrew, you smoke weed, you realize this connects you to god, also?

There is no god..... You are delusional if you believe that you're god or talking to god or giving god fellatio......

All this is wasted time.. Time that could go towards something realistic like a job or a family...

So you are not aware, you have no consciousness?  Surely you have experienced a short duration of thoughtlessness.  You don't cease to exist when a thought passes by, do you?  Your awareness is still present.

I think there's a difference between blindly believing in something and believing in something with the understanding that you might be wrong. I think pride and consistency in one's own beliefs is a very good thing, but you should never consider your convictions beyond disprovable. Ironically our politicians have neither pride, consistency, or the ability to understand that they could be wrong.

Don't you see, if you doubt what you believe, what's the point of believing it?  I believe humans should all be good to one another, do I doubt that belief and wrong someone for my own gain?  No.

I did not made any reference to religious books. I am certain that you never opened ANY book about philosophy or psychology. Moreover, you are implying that people which read religious books have a "distorted perception of the world".

This is a false implication.

We're searching for some sort of answer, I mean, at what point does society stop building itself, just because?  At what point does society change from an environment of forced labor to a world of peace and freedom of choice?

At no point.

Moreover, what do you mean by "forced labor"? Do you think the whole human species is unhappy with the labor they perform?

People do not think for you, teachers do not feed information through your brain.  You question everything they say because you lack understanding.  You can find understanding by doing things for yourself, look within you.
