Title: Why I like bitcoin
Post by: optimator on November 18, 2012, 11:08:13 PM
I believe that when currencies compete currency holders win.

I believe policies of isolationism are anachronistic and only serve to further the divide between the countries that have, and the countries that have not.

I believe that to achieve parity in the world’s economy disadvantaged countries must participate in the world market.

I believe the world benefits when all counties are received as peers.

I believe everyone’s voice should be heard.

I believe there is a cost to the dissemination of information.

I believe that the existing fiscal infrastructure inhibits the free flow of information by excluding disadvantaged countries from basic economic transactions.

I believe bitcoin provides a means for disadvantaged countries to transact as an equal to all countries.

I believe uninhibited fiscal transactions are equally as important as the free flow of ideas for a free society.

I like bitcoin because I believe it has the power to provide freedom. I like bitcoin because I believe it has the power to free the individual from oppression; regardless of where the oppression originates.

I believe I must have the freedom to spend my money any way I choose and that no one can have the ability to either freeze or seize it.

I believe I must have the freedom to retain uninterupted complete control over my money.

I believe I must be able to receive money without paying any fees to middlemen.

I believe once I receive my money there must not exist even a chance of fraud through a chargeback.

I believe no one can have the ability to create more money for themselves out of thin air while the rest of us have to work for it or exchange something valuable for it.

I believe in this day and age of virtually gratis & instant global communications there is no reason why I couldn't be able to send some money to anyone, anywhere, anytime in a matter of seconds and without having to pay enormous fees.

Because I trust more in math, cryptography and open source than in central banks and government.
