So much so that the prominent American economist Bhagwan Chowdhry has nominated bitcoin inventor Satoshi Nakamoto for the 2016 Nobel Prize in economics. Chowdhry, a professor of finance at UCLA, was asked by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences to nominate a candidate for the prize, and chose Nakamoto because bitcoin "is nothing short of revolutionary". |
