If you have an amazon gift card, you can convert it to BTC at purse.io. You buy something for someone and get repaid in BTC.

I guess you can use the amazon gift cards. I'm not sure if you can turn them in bitcoin, but you can buy them using bitcoin.

You can sell them for bitcoin in digital goods forum, but avoid scammers

I originally thought this was thread was about buying gift cards with bitcoin. That is really easy and you can use Gyft.com for that. I've used them many times in the past with great success.

I have never personally bought bitcoins with a gift card though. I've heard of purse.io as the previous poster mentioned but have never tried it. I'd personally avoid doing peer-to-peer trades via the forums unless you find someone well trusted. Even then, if you have no previous trade history, it might be difficult for you.

i guess you can do it, you could sell on the digital goods section on this forum. i advise you to always use escrow for your trades.

There are people accepting gift cards at the currency exchange section. But be aware that the resell price is very low and hence you can only sell for around 80% of the original price provided that you bought it with cash and have the receipt (for most cases). Otherwise, localbitcoins have several people trading gift cards for Bitcoin but same condition applies.

i've heard bad story about purse.io and gift card, someone was talking about this on reddit

random thread talking about the matter , there ar emany other https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3f8612/purseio_has_disallowed_purchasing_amazon_gift/

i would avoid, it seems a sort of "paypal scam esque"
