Quote
A Turkish businessman running a cafe network in Russia was shocked by the murder of the Russian Su-24 pilot by a Turkish fighter jet. Regretting the deep rift in relations between Moscow and Ankara, he has offered to donate his profits to the victim’s family.

Turkish national Sefa Buzgan, who runs four cafes in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk, was shocked and saddened by the tragic incident this week. The businessman generously offered his Wednesday profits from all of his locations to the family of the Russian pilot, Oleg Peshkov.

Taking into account the political tensions surrounding the plane’s downing, Buzgan said that that his family is “deeply saddened by this military incident” and therefore would like to “provide all the possible assistance to the family of the killed pilot.”

Well done Sefa, it's nice to see that not all Turks are praying to Obama.

The smallest actions, when they come from within the generosity of ones heart, will precipitate to change the world.

That can be simply translated to a "Marketing trick".

He gave what? 1 day's profits from 4 cafes?

How much would he pay to get an advertisement on TV? ;)
Don't get fooled.

That's exactly what I was thinking. For less than $1,000, he got widespread coverage in the Russian media. There are more than 100,000 Turks working in Russia, and they are very infamous for exploiting their Russian workers. They serve substandard food in the restaurants they own, and never pay the full amount of taxes to the government.

Maybe, maybe not. Does he have any restaurants in Russia? Is he currently residing in Turkey?

Seems like if he only has businesses established in Turkey, and also resides in Turkey, this gesture wouldn't be beneficial for him. Actually it could be risky for him... On the other hand, if he has businesses established in Russia it may be profitable to act this way.

Not all Turks are same, like not all Russians or Americans are same. You have to judge people by their acts, not their nationalities.
He made the right thing. I don't care about his nationality.

There isn't such hostility in my neighborhood. Russians and Turks don't grudge against themselves, but I don't know about Moscow Russians.

Yes... he is having a total of four restaurants in Russia and he is residing in that country. There are a lot of Turkish nationals residing in Russia (around 90,000 according to the Russian sources), and many of them own businesses such as cafes, restaurants and breweries. A significant number of them are having ties to the various mafia groups in Russia and this helps them in getting rid of the competitors.
