Title: Direct download for latest blockchain Post by: erl on November 20, 2012, 04:43:29 PM Is there any chance I can download blockchain directly from FTP/HTTP? My problem is I had to switch back to Satoshi's client and now I have to wait until all the blocks are synchronized and it's taking so freaking long...
I tried to google it but probably used irrelevant keywords. Quite a few seeds so it has pretty good download speeds.

One thing tho how do you import it after downloading and sticking the file in app data sections as am lost on that part says put in bitcoin app data folder and says it will import but am not seeing any of that with wallet. Their service seems ridiculous: Offering a download link. I can understand bandwidth, server costs etc, but the value they add seems very little. It took me almost a week to get it done via the qt and if I had known about this earlier, it would have saved me a lot of time and effort. You can imagine my frustration having to go through all that initially. ;D Nowadays I keep a copy of the blockchain in my portable harddrive. Just about that day lent it to a friend of mine for him to setup the qt. |
