Just wondered what you have bought with Bitcoin?  Or post if you haven't bought anything.

I've bought a glasses case from btcgear.com

Entry to the London conference in September - BTC8,01
Masala chai from the NM Tea Co. - BTC2,33
One Bitcoin wall poster from the London conference - BTC1,00

Gambled a few BTC on sites like betsofbitco.in, dragons.tl, sealswithclubs.eu and so on.

Invested a few BTC here and there, done some trading/speculation.

No alpaca socks but might be interested if they make them a few sizes larger. :)

Might also be interested in, in future: VPN services (my WiTopia expired a while ago); CASASCIUS bitcoins; general silver trades and just, well, buying stuff when more retailers accept BTC. It's money after all.

Silver coins, silver bitcoin bullions, bitcoin magazine, tea, honey, CO2 gun, various dropbox accounts: I think that in a year or so I've moved some hundreds of bitcoins.

I play poker on Seals with Clubs and convert my winnings to Amazon gift cards via BTCBuy.info. If I were playing for a living, obviously this wouldn't work, but it works great as a casual player, since I order from Amazon 1-2 times a month.

I'm curious if anyone has seen any big "legitimate" uses for which bitcoin has a clear advantage over standard fiat money. I've been dabbling in bitcoin for a little while now and would love to see it grow, but as I talk to people about it, it's been hard to see how it will find a mainstream use in a developed country. I'm really wondering about this more from a transactional perspective as opposed to using it as a hedge against inflation, etc.

One thing I could think of, is cash remittance if you have relatives abroad you need to send money to. You don't have to pay huge fees on payment processors or bank institutions for transferring your money from country to country if you choose bitcoins.

2 or 3 deals I made were be costly without bitcoin: for honey and tea  for example I spent few dollars, and a International wire transfer will cost more than the transaction, paypal fees and conversion are near 10% for small imports (3,4%+0.35€+2.5% of conversion from € to $, even moneybroker or other similar services have a cost over 6-7%.
Credit card for shop (at least in Italy) have a fixed monthly cost, plus a % of your transaction, plus a fixed flat. On small transaction (10-20€) the cost of the fees is over the earning of the shop keeper: here bitcoin can do the difference.

Me too!!!  VPN from mullvad, totally anonymous with even a one day use option...very fast and secure.

VPS from MomentoVPS which offers even one week rentals and is also totally anonymous but I am not happy with it.

Can you tell me what VPS you chose ?

Also, I have loaned out some btc on BTCJam.

I'm a deal hunter. I don't buy everything that's on sale, but for items I was going to buy anyway, I'll take the time to search out the best deal possible. There are times, I find, that people put stuff up on Bitmit or on the goods forum for an excellent discount. I got a year of Netflix for 1 bitcoin. That would be like if bitcoins were worth $98. Yeah, sometimes the deals are better in fiat, but if you don't have bitcoins, then you are going to miss out on some stuff.

It's been really interesting reading everyone's uses of bitcoin, though I still feel that most of them are for the novelty of buying with bitcoin versus it being substantially more cost effective.

For the people buying things at physical locations in Berlin, why has bitcoin caught on so much there? Seems there must be an economic reason behind it more than just a large bitcoin-favoring libertarian community.
